At the Menin Gate Memorial work has begun to dismantle the first sections of scaffolding.

Every day on average 30 people are working on the restoration of the Menin Gate Memorial. From architects, to skilled restoration craftsmen, construction site supervisors, health and safety specialists, roofing teams, masons and masters in stone masonry.

The group wanted to recreate the Christmas Truce football match between England and Germany. This took place at De Dreve, next to the Brothers in Arms memorial. Thanks to Johan Vandewalle for allowing us to take over his pub garden, serve us beer and talk about the Brothers in Arms memorial! What an end to a great day’s touring. England won 2-1!
