I had this beautiful gift through the post today from gorgeous Arcade Skincare , two of my most favourite people in the world. Thank you so much for this framed book page a map of the old county of Monmouthshire. It will have pride of place on my Newport wall (they're all Newport walls these days 😊) Very grateful 🙏

The most fantastic day today volunteering at Got soaked giving out water, a sore arm giving out t shirts and a sore throat from congratulating incredible, incredible people. What a fabulous day, wonderful for the city! I will be back next year!

Just a couple of snaps of today's tours, no 1 in St Woolos cemetery, on a VERY steep learning curve! It turns out delivering tours in a cemetery is a totally different animal to delivering in the street! I have some work to do. Had a great time though, thank you to all my guinea pigs! Then a lovely long private tour of the city centre in the afternoon calling into for coffee and cake! Before it's too late, go and see the blossom in the cemetery, it is magnificent 😻

Over the last 7 days I have had the absolute joy and pleasure of taking over 90, that's 90! people around the city centre talking about literature and music. Who couldn't love that?! 90 people! People say 'what's there to see in Newport?!' ask these guys. 'Nothing ever happens in Newport' we'll, that's not true, is it? We have had Llwybr Cerdd Casnewydd / Newport Music Trail and then Newport Festival of Words with a side of Newport Fringe Festival. All in the last week. Literally proved that. What an absolute joy it has been and I simply can't wait to do more! Watch this space! Thanks to David Daniel Sonney Hawkins O'Brien Sam Dabb Beth Wilks Jayne Bryant for Newport West for everything and everyone else that came along too!
