A 10 minute drive from Hanna's Close, the Silent Valley is also nestled at the foot of the majestic Mourne Mountains. Enjoy the peace and solitude of this attraction on the outskirts of Kilkeel. There is something for everyone!

Last night we watched the wonderful Ruth, a descendent of Hanna’s Close, share her recipe for traditional soda bread that has been passed down through the generations 🍞 using her amazing griddle which is over 200 years old!! 🏡

Thank you to everyone who came along, a special thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund Northern Ireland for helping to make it happen!

Easter event is STILL ON today! A little rain never stopped us before 🙂 and sure it's a proper day for our duck derby 😉🦆☔️

We hope everyone is excited for Monday - both the little kids and the big kids 🤪
Some info for you ahead of the day 👇

🐰 Entry is via the ticket you received on your phone, please go to the admissions tent upon arrival. If you can't find/open your ticket give me a shout and I'll happily send it again 🙂 (Laura: 07534810340)
All tickets should have been sent to all with confirmed payments - please let me know if you haven't.

🐰 🚗Parking🚗 will be along the road due to the weather. We don't have enough tractors to pull you all out of a mucky field 😆 and our car park down the lane will be closed for accommodation guest use only.
❗Please park so that emergency vehicles and agricultural machinery can get past your car as we are a rural road!!

🐰 Again because of the weather, some areas of the river path where the event is taking place may be a bit damp or mushy underfoot. It is gravelled but with leaves etc falling this is hard to control. Please wear appropriate footwear that you don't mind a leaf or 4 stuck to 🙈 Or be prepared to wash your teenager's lovely new white trainers that they insist on wearing no matter what you tell them 😂 wellies are advised!

🐰 We have our little cottage called Tommy's open for the day so you can purchase some yummy treats and hot drinks from there - all proceeds will go to our charity to restore our amazing wee heritage site ❤🏡
