Tidelands Boathouse, a stunning self catering waterside property for two that sits alongside the Teign Estuary in a quiet and peaceful location, enjoying fantastic views from inside or outside the property. There is an everchanging display on the river, whatever the weather, of bird life, water sports, and water craft. Kayaks and buoyancy aids are available for guests to explore the delights of th

e river and furthermore why not relax and unwind in a wood fired hot tub, with exclusive use, additional charge applies for bookings with the hot tub. The property itself is very well equipped with great attention to detail. (unfortunately no pets allowed)
The aim of Tidelands Boathouse is to leave a special place in the hearts of all who stay here. Tidelands Boathouse has been awarded TripAdvisors 2018 and 2019 Certificate of Excellence and TripAdvisors travellers choice award 2020. Also Airbnb’s superhost status 5 times in a row. Tidelands Boathouse lies within the small village of Combeinteignhead, which has two very good pub/restaurants, one of which is a mere 250 metres walk along the foreshore from the property. Within close proximity, lies the market town of Newton Abbot (2 miles), coastal resorts of Teignmouth (3 miles) and Torquay (4 miles)
Access to the renowned South West Coast Path is 2 miles away whilst the Templer Way footpath runs along the foreshore past the property. Also within easy reach are Exeter, Dartmoor, Dartmouth, Brixham and Plymouth. Tidelands Boathouse is a detached property, well equipped for two people. Downstairs an open plan lounge/ kitchen which overlooks the river from a large picture window. The lounge area has two sofas, a bespoke coffee table, wall mounted TV, Netflix, free WiFi, Bose Soundtouch Speaker, Tourist information folder, walking books, maps, Tide table and a cupboard with binoculars, games etc for cosy nights in or rainy days. A breakfast bar separates the lounge and kitchen, with two swivel bar stools. Kitchen has an integrated Fridge, Dishwasher, Oven, Hob, Microwave and Slow cooker. There is another free standing Fridge Freezer along with a Washer/Dryer. Nespresso Vertuo Plus Coffee Machine, Aeroccino, Toaster and Kettle. You will also find oven gloves, tea towel, hand towel, dishcloth, wash up sponge and a supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cooking oil, salt, pepper, cling film, foil, oil, coffee, tea, sugar, coffee pods, coffee mate, kitchen roll and bin liners. Off the lounge area is the toilet/shower room with towels, supply of toilet rolls, shampoo, shower gel, hand wash and hand lotion. Upstairs is the bedroom with large built in wardrobe, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, hot water bottle. Book console headboard with selection of books, chest of drawers, mirror, dressing gowns, slippers, king size bed with bed linen provided, TV, French doors with Juliet balcony, views over the river and giving a light airy feel, three velux windows with roof blinds. Outdoors the property is approached via a five bar wooden gate with parking area for one guest car, behind the property is a seating area and a wood fired hot tub with a canopy over. To the front there is a patio area with patio table, chairs and sunloungers, a gas BBQ is also available for guests use. A double gate leads out onto the foreshore and if our floodgate is in, there is a small gate on the side of the property to access the foreshore.

Yesterday whilst at the Boathouse, as the tide started to go out, we were very lucky to see not 1 but 2 kingfishers flying along the waters edge making a right din. Then one pinned the other one down in the water right in front of us. What a delight that was. 😊
