When we say the beaches at Holme are peaceful, and a haven for wildlife, we really do mean it!
After commenting recently that we were the only people to have walked on the beach that morning, our six-year-old responded: "Except for the person who drew all the triangles..."
We had to explain they were actually bird footprints. 😂
Let's talk play parks! There are a number of great ones located just a short distance from Scalp Cottage Norfolk - our tried and tested favourites include Old Hunstanton (opposite The Lodge Hotel), Thornham (next to the deli), Burnham Market, and Brancaster. Do you have any favourites?

RSPB Titchwell Marsh has opened a new café at its site near Brancaster and is looking for volunteers to help with the running.

Acres of gardens, woodlands, lakeside walks and wildlife habitats to explore - plus you can feed the birds, see flamingos, eat in the cafe, enjoy beautiful sculptures and there's an enormous nature-inspired play park for kids too!

Location, location, location! Situated on a country lane leading directly to miles of unspoilt sandy beaches and the sea, Scalp Cottage is a 5-minute walk to the beautiful beaches of Holme. You’re also close to amenities and attractions when you want them.
A short drive takes you to Hunstanton, or ‘Sunny Hunny’ as it’s known, with its wide range of shops, restaurants, fairground, and leisure activities. The cottage is also close to Thornham, Heacham, Brancaster, Burnham Market and the renowned beaches of Wells-next-the-Sea: all offering tasty local produce, eateries and pubs.

We got the chance to try out the completely refurbished White Horse Holme at the weekend. Located just a short walk from Scalp Cottage Norfolk, it's the nearest pub to the cottage for a drink and dinner. On this occasion, we just went for a drink in the garden to make the most of the sunshine.
We're pleased to say the outside space is looking incredible - with a great garden area where dogs on leads are welcomed - and a play area is being installed shortly for kids too. We'll be back soon to try out the food!
