Our Story
I work in a variety of media , primarily Rag Rug Art , but also Upcycled and Mixed Media Jewellery , Papier Mache' , Photography and Creative Journalling....Much of my work is based on recycling/green crafts and ethics....I work largely from my workshop at home , but also from a growing number of studio's/craft lounges in the Norwich and North Norfolk area . I am an Arts and Crafts Tutor with well over 20 years experience , working mainly in upcycled materials , my speciality is textile art , primarily Rag Rug Art , This technique differs from the latchhooking technique we might be more familiar with , its based entirely on recycled materials... clothing , blankets...even plastic bags ! working on a sacking backcloth (I use mainly donated coffee sacks) beautiful , unique and very practical items can be made at very little cost , Rugs , Cushions , Seatpads , Tea Cosies , Table Mats , Yoga mats ...and much more. As featured in Reloved Magazine . During a rag rugging workshop , you will learn the basic technique to create any of the above , hessian and a selection of rags will be available for a small donation , plus a hand turned hook will be available to use , and or/purchase at a cost of ten pound's each. There will also be a demonstration of hooking on a frame , and other tools and techniques available..... also :- ReBound will be published both online and in real time this year combining Art practices and Mindfulness... plus a new range of Upcycled Jewellery , Textile art pieces and Mixed Media incorporating my own photography.... workshops coming in the spring .
