Just spent the most fantastic 2 days on the Rocky Mountaineer travelling from Vancouver to Lake Louise.

Sightseeing in Vancouver. Sampled an ebike tour of the city and now we're at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. Amazing experiences.

And last night - best ribs I've ever had at Baderos restaurant in Coal Coast Harbour.

A lovely waitress told us we'd probably ordered too much - used to English portions!

How much are drinks and drink packages on a cruise ? Celebrity do a basic drinks package in the cruise price - that's any drink up 10 dollars is included (not bottled water though). And they add 20% as a gratuity which you pay at the end of the cruise (so buy a beer for 10 dollars and you'll have a 2 dollar gratuity added)

You can upgrade to a premium drinks package - this then includes any drink up to 17 dollars - which is most of the drinks on the ship. If it's over you pay the difference. Again the 20% applies

On Virgin you can't buy a drinks package. You pay as you go - or you can pre buy credit on your cabin and they give you a discount. And no extra gratuities

And on Royal Caribbean its an extra 85 dollars per person per day - and everyone in the cabin has to have it. But they often do special offers.

In a nutshell - it's really complicated - and working out what offers best value needs expertise and experience.
