Here's Nik and I during nap time, catching up with a well deserved coffee on our 1st day working together again.......

22 years ago here we were working together at McDonald's and Weatherspoons.....I refuse to accept I am this old...except the photos do paint a different picture 🙈😂😂

Our sensory bell tent ⛺️🎪

Having the tent here this summer has been life changing. It has become such a versatile space. Children with special needs have had a safe, quiet space to explore while outside, yet inside. Meaning less sensory overload. All the children have explored the tent, from role play, to reading, exploring sensory toys, ball toys, relaxing and chatting!

I'm looking forward to having a warmer and covered space to explore in colder months.

Final week of summer.....visiting Rushcliffe Country Park. Every time we go, we find a new place to explore....this time the ladybird trail.

The children today learned about
*Identifying tree leaves
*Recognising the alphabet through animals
*Recognising different insects
*Climbing and balance
* Recognising different birds and learning their signs
*Being safe in the community
And back home they explored colours and shapes using the light table and cones and cause and effect and number using the water table and numbered fish.

Another week, another clean and set up playroom.

Ita the final week of the summer holidays 😭😭😭😭 its flown by!

This week we have some final daytrips, "under the sea" theme and loose part, shapes and colour play!

What a changeable day. Decided it wasn't warm enough for Bulwell Bogs splash pad so plan B blackberry picking. It was only going to be a light showers afterall .....🙈🙈☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️🌧

We got soaked!!! And picked very few blackberries. The afternoon however was a different story. U Win some you lose some..🤷‍♀️

Yesterday we visited St Paul's Breakfast Club and joined our friends at Little Legges Childcare for a picnic on the park.

Very pleased with my car boot purchases today. As part of my eypdp ( years professional development programme) targets I wanted to improve the outdoor numeracy space by adding scales and opportunities to weigh items. Here is our new weighing station!

A kind parent has also donated some wooden toys and we found a fabulous wooden dolls house and pedal Trike too.

I've also started to weedle out my own children's plastic toys in favour of the wooden items and make a return back to the hygge/Montessori ethos.

2 weeks left of summer....let's go.

Next...the stickman trail, finding their big sisters memorial stone, playgrounds and the cloud watching activity (my fave!!!), finished off with a hot choc treat!

Definitely recommend the National Memorial Arboretum for a day out.....

Today's visit to the National Memorial Arboretum. 1st stop a WW2 exhibit. The children loved exploring a house from 1944 and building their own memorials...
