We love a walk at Yew Tree Avenue in Clipsham, once the carriage driveway to clipsham it is a fascinating yet tranquil walk over 150 clipped Yew Trees in all manner of unusual shapes.

With some much to do in our area we love a visit to Woolsthorpe Manor, the house where Isaac Newton lived. See the 400 year old apple tree that is believed to have inspired Isaac Newton's thinking about gravity in 1665.
While your there check out the science centre where you can get hands on with some of Isaac Newtons famous experiments.

Fort Henry situated on Exton Estates is a great place to head out to view , with great footpaths to walk around the area, you could even have a pub stop to refuel at either The Wheatsheaf, Greetham or Fox and Hounds, Exton.

Take a walk out to Sauvey Castle , located near Withcote, Leicestershire. Sauvey Castle is a raised bit of earth next to the River Chater, a short walk from Launde Abbey. There is not much left to see but it's a very nice part of the Countryside and combined with a trip to Launde abbey would make a nice afternoon out

Launde Abbey is an Elizabethan grade ll listed manor house built on the site of an Augustinian Prior, just 6 miles south west of Oakham. With beautiful peaceful walks and a lovely cafe it is well worth a visit!

Rutland County Museum , located in Oakham was built in the old riding school of the Rutland Fencible Cavalry. Admission if free and you can take a look at a wide collection of objects relating to local agricultural life, social history and archaeology

Burrough Hill is an Iron age hillfort in Burrough on the hill, Situated on a promontory about 210 metres above sea level you will get some amazing views of the surrounding countryside!

Be sure to take the kids to Rutland Farm Park whilst in the area , see sheep, goats, pygmy goats, pigs, cows, ponies, chickens, geese, alpacas, cows , horses and rabbits , they also have a lovely tearoom
