Changing light always makes for a mesmerising view from Stormhouse. The little islands dotted about the rocky coastline are a haven for seabirds and marine wildlife including otters and seals.

It’s also a fantastic location for sea kayaking! Anyone thinking of Scotland’s west coast for their next holiday? 🤍

Stormhouse sits right on the boundary of Argyll and the Highlands…A 30 minute drive takes you to the dramatic mountains of Glencoe and even in summer you can find yourself to be the only one around, enjoying the peace and remoteness.

Or just sit and enjoy the views from your own secluded hideaway 😊

The Old Inn is a 5-10 minute walk so you don’t even have to cook. A rustic, atmospheric pub dating from the 1670’s (if only the walls could talk!) they specialise in Highlander steak 🥩

Spectacular views, luxury hideaway, mountain walks, amazing hot tub and a steak dinner….is there a better way to spend the day?

Spending time just seeing what’s going on along the coastline 👀 It’s so nice watching the Oystercatchers, Cormorants, Eider ducks, Great northerner divers…even the Sea Eagles 🦅 which frequent the waters around the castle. If you’re lucky you’ll catch sight of an otter. Just a bit of patience is required 😊

The end of winter can be a serene time to visit Stormhouse … the subdued tones, dissipated light and rugged landscape is such a tonic for the soul 😊Of course it can also be horizontal rain but we have to appreciate the changeable Scottish weather 🤣. Either way, you have the best seat in the house to watch the weather roll in 👌

The rugged west coast … Beinn Sgulaird shrouded in a blizzard whilst we enjoy relatively calm conditions a few miles inland. Yearning for a bit of spring weather 🙏
