This may be of interest. A drop in talk at a working click mill. Altogether this one is later, the mechanism is comparable to the Norse clickmill excavated at The Bu in Orphir. (Not an Orkney Time Travel event, I'm just sharing).

Visit the the Click Mill, a fully restored water mill built in the 1820s, and join Historic Environment Scotland's rangers to find out more about this beautiful old building.

Is Thor's Hammer really a hammer?? Those pendants which are known as Thor's Hammers don't look anything like the hammers (tools) that have been found. I was beginning to doubt it, until this one was found in Denmark, which is inscribed in runes, saying : "Hammer is!" Meaning, this is a hammer 😄 Apparently someone a thousand years ago also wanted some clarification.

Thanks to all those who came out to the Witchcraft walking tour last night. There's another one on Tuesday 31st October, starting at 7 pm from outside The Brig Larder, 1 Albert Street.

With Halloween fast approaching, many people are on the lookout for ghostly goings on and spooky stories to enjoy. A special Witchcraft Trials walking tour through Kirkwall on the night itself will offer all of the above, alongside an important message about prejudice and tolerance.
