The Book Direct movement was established in 2017 and is celebrated on the first Wednesday of February every year. This was created in response to the booking fees charged by the major OTA (online travel agents) websites like Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.cm etc
and to raise awareness of the benefits of booking direct 💰
Behind every single listing on these websites, is an independent owner, who like us puts their heart and soul into providing the best possible destination for your well earned break away.
And the only reason, we and the majority of these owners will be listed here - is to be seen. We cannot compete with their marketing, there is no escaping it. Think little fish, REALLY big pond! 💧
But this is where you can make a difference. You can use the OTA websites as your yellow pages and with a little detective work find the listings direct website and make contact with a real life person 🕵️
