The Windmill reborn. Well done to all involved.

Portland Windmills, two striking disused stone towers that have graced the Isle of Portland since the early 17th century. Perched south of Easton village and east of Weston village, these windmills are not only a testament to the islandโ€™s rich industrial past but also hold the distinction of being the only historic windmill remains to survive in Dorset. These structures, once bustling with activity, now stand as silent sentinels over the landscape, offering a glimpse into the areaโ€™s storied heritage. Their enduring presence provides a fascinating insight into the traditional technologies that once powered local industries.

๐ŸŒŠ Discover the Stunning Chesil Beach ๐ŸŒŠ

Did you know that Chesil Beach is not just any beach but one of the finest examples of a barrier beach anywhere in the world? Stretching over 18 miles along the Dorset Coast, it connects Portland to the mainland and shelters a rich lagoon ecosystem!

๐Ÿค” Here's a lesser-known fact: Chesil Beach's pebbles are uniquely sorted by size, with the larger stones at the Portland end and gradually getting smaller towards the mainland. This natural marvel is a geologist's dream and offers an intriguing study for anyone interested in how the forces of nature shape our world.

๐Ÿ–๏ธ Whether you're a nature lover, a photography enthusiast, or simply in search of a peaceful walk by the sea, Chesil Beach offers breathtaking views and a serene escape from the everyday hustle.

**BREAK IN**

From Peter Roper: "I've just been informed that St. Peters Church on Grove Road was broken into at the weekend. The Brass Cross Candle Sticks and all Brass wall plaques have been stolen - This is so sad, all that history lost. The police have been informed, but have yet to attend."
