Oddball Studio is a Vocal and Recording Studio based in Prestatyn, North Wales. We also provide backing vocalists if required.

Singing Tuition & Vocal Coaching for :
Performance, Examinations & Confidence Building, in a safe environment (Enhanced DBS checked and fully insured)
Voice Over service, for Corporate Videos, Online videos and websites and also Radio adverts and jingles. With over 30 years teaching experience and more in the performance industry, the studio is run by Debbie Bevins, professional singing teacher, v

ocal coach, choreographer and theatre arts practitioner in dance and drama. The studio is also active in supplying singers/performers for events, shows, films and vocal recording with other companies who distribute countrywide. As a singing teacher and vocal coach, Debbie specialises in Musical Theatre, Rock, Pop, Jazz and Blues, Students at the Studio are taught for Performance, Examinations, Confidence Building and some just for Fun! For those wishing to take their examinations, these are taken through The London College of Music (LCM). These are accredited by Ofqual, which serves as a UK governmental stamp of approval and quality assurance, confirming parity of standards with other similar awarding bodies, and award UCAS points for higher grades. The Studio currently offers LCM examination preparation in Music Theatre and Popular Vocals, with those wishing to take their Music Theory examinations also catered for if required. Students at The Studio also get the opportunity to perform whenever possible and the studio actively supports various local charities by holding fundraisers, concerts and providing students to perform at charity events. As a Recording Studio, Oddball offers a range of " Recording Gift Certificates" which make a great present for your budding Rock and Pop Stars! Studio time is also available for singers and musicians wanting to work on their own, tracks or demos. The Studio also offers a Voice Over service, for Corporate Videos, Online videos and websites and also Radio adverts and jingles. Finally, 'Huge Congratulations' go to my studio student Llinos Evans, who recently took her first ever LCM Music Thatre exam at Grade 2, gaining a Distinction with a very high mark!
Some fabulous comments from the examiner included :
'You conveyed the character well with plenty of actions and gestures, vocally you covered the range well, diction and accent were good and overall this was a charming performance'.
'This song demonstrated your warm and natural vocal tone, good movement and use of props'.

Another 'Huge Congratulations' go out to my studio student Shania Nickson, who recently gained her Grade 4 LCM in Music Theatre, with another fabulous high mark and some great comments from the examiner including :
'This was a charming performance and you engaged with the character, diction was clear and accent was good'
'Good use of floorspace and acting skills demonstrated, good use of props, vocally you added good energy and the inflections you added gave the character real substance'.
'You sang this song with a warm tone that worked with the story of the song, pitch was secure and diction good'.

More 'Huge Congratulations' today go to my studio student Ella-Rae Davies, who I was delighted to award with her Grade 6 LCM Certificate in Music Theatre, with yet another fabulous high mark and gaining some useful UCAS points too at this grade.
Some great comments from the examiner for her performance pieces included :
'You committed to this character and conveyed the fun and humour of the lyrics, use of props and floorspace was good, a good opening to your programme'.
'Diction was clear and appropriate, overall this was an engaging performance with plenty of personality and sparkle'.
'The changes of energy were good and you acted the character well, your vocal tone was warm and rounded'.

More 'Huge Congratulations', this time goes to my studio student Hermione Hughes, who recently gained her Grade 7 LCM certificate in Music Theatre, earning some well deserved UCAS points too!
Some great comments from the examiner over the pieces performed including :
'You demonstrated a clear vocal tone in this song and accent was good'.
'Your phrasing was natural and had a good flow to it, and you added some good dynamics to the performance'
'Libretto : accent good and well placed, and you delivered the song with a good feel for the style and your phrasing was musical'.

Another Huge 'Congratulations' goes to my studio student Isabelle Huges, awarded with another high grade Distinction for her Grade 4 LCM exam in Music Theatre.
Some fabulous comments from the examiner for her 3 pieces included :
'You captured the character and the humour of the song through your actions and vocal inflections, the propes were well handled and you used the floorspace'
'Pitch was secure and your tone was balanced over the range of the song and you held the character to the end of the music'
and for the final piece:
'This song allowed you to demonstrate some softer and warmer vocal colours that were well placed'.

A huge 'Congratulations' to my studio student Imogen Porter, gaining another high grade Distinction with an extremely high mark in her recent LCM Music Theatre exam.

Many of you will remember my past student Rhys Bunn, who I taught for about 10 years before he flew the nest to study in Uni. So it warms my heart when I get videos sent of my past students still singing, even if performing arts is not their chosen career path, so it was great to see and hear my longtime student Rhys Bunn, taking part in the Only Boys Aloud Academi again this year. The video is of the Rogers and Hammerstein medley they performed as part of their end of Academi week concert.
