We're at the Forge Mill Heritage Open Day event this coming Sunday, 17th September, so why not come and see us? We will be exhibiting the work of 6 of our local artists, giving a foretaste of our forthcoming Pop-Up Gallery in November. Some of those artists will be doing demonstrations of their work, and we will also be running a children's art activity inspired by the wonderful Paoalozzi mosaics (accompanied children only). The event runs from 10.0 am to 4.0pm, and there's loads more going on all day; we look forward to seeing you.

This beautiful photo was taken in Woodrow by a keen astrologist. Isn't it simply awe inspiring?

"For info, this is the Dumbbell nebula and is the type of nebula our Sun will produce when nuclear fusion stops in its core in about 4-5 billion years' time. It takes light about 1000 years to reach us so this is what it looked like around 1023, before the battle of Hastings! This photo is the equivalent of over a 3 hour exposure."

PROCLAMATION EVENT – SUNDAY 11th SEPTEMBER 2022
The Mayor, Cllr Ann Isherwood cordially invites you to attend the Borough Proclamation event on Sunday 11th September at 3.00 pm at the Bandstand, Church Green, following the passing of our late Sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The ceremony will mark the formal Proclamation to the people of the Town of Redditch of the beginning of our new King’s reign and will include an announcement of the accession which took place immediately on the death of the reigning monarch.

This will be one of the first occasions when communities have an opportunity to come together and reflect on the moment in our nation’s history when the reign of our longest-serving Monarch came to an end and our new Sovereign succeeded.

All are welcome.

A candlelit vigil to show Redditch support for the people of the Ukraine is set to take place on Sunday, 7pm at The Canopies (the covered market area)
Organised by Council Leader Matt Dormer, residents are encouraged to bring their own battery operated candles – or use the torch on their phones.

Redditch Rocks are working with Redditch Borough Council to create memorial rocks for Holocaust Memorial Day to take place on the 29th January. Decorate your rocks and take them to the town hall before the event or before 10.15am on the 29th.

The rocks will be used as a visual reminder to the town.

A REDDITCH manufacturer has received funding from a county council team to develop a new product.

Forklift manufacturers, Translift Bendi, has received support from the clean growth team at Worcestershire County Council.

The company has used advice and grant funding to develop a waste compressing product and change the lighting at their site to energy efficient LEDs.

The clean growth team ensure businesses are doing all they can to reduce carbon emissions.

Paul Berrow, managing director at Translift Bendi said the support from the council team has helped the business. “After contacting the county council, we have been given extremely great advice on what support there is for us as a manufacturing business,” said Mr Berrow.
