Get away from it all!

☀️ Peace, quiet, sunshine and those views ☀️

A cooler Spring resulted in everything being two weeks late in North Yorkshire including our feathered migrant friends returning from sunnier climes. Mowing the lawn to the accompaniment of our first returning cuckoo while swallows were on the wing. Along the lane were busy meadow pipits, mistle thrush, pied wagtail and charms of goldfinches. Turning out of the lane we caught a flash of white as our first returning wheatear dived over the drystone wall. The day was complete as a mother grouse guided her 10 chicks across the lane and into the safety of the heather.

Wonderful to see and hear this super cute new born lamb at the back of The Little Barn today 🐑 ( have the sound on 😍)

Reeth looking absolutely glorious this morning ☀️

Had a lovely walk today from Reeth to Grinton, quick stop at the fabulous Grinton Books ( def worth a visit ) delicious lunch Dales Bike Centre and back to Reeth Have your sound on & breathe for moment 😍

This little chap was hungry this evening, wonder if he caught the mouse at the end ?

Only a one minute walk from The Little Barn 😊 I could have quite happily stayed up there all day !

💥🔔💥🔔💥 Sound on 💥🔔💥🔔 Always heartwarming to hear the first cuckoo of spring, having recently arrived from central Africa, they are often heard but rarely seen! Also, I have it on good authority that the other bird calls in the clip are from Chaffinch and Blue Tit, who have taken up residence in our next box, for the second year running.
