"My family just visited for a quick staycation this weekend celebrating my birthday. We live in Brevard County, and we were looking for a quick weekend getaway. This is the perfect spot.
We arrived early around lunchtime and was greeted by a lovely man at the security gate who was so hospitable and very informative of where we needed to go to register, park, and check in. Thinking we wouldn’t be able to check in just yet, the plan was just to maybe grab a bite to eat before taking our luggage up. To our surprise, our room was already ready to go, check in was a breeze; we grabbed our bags and headed straight up to our suite.
The suite was perfect. We booked the Terraces, which I highly recommend. It seemed a little more private than the main resort and had a very relaxing vibe. The entire staff was so kind and helpful. Extremely accommodating, by simply giving us proper directions and amenity information, to sending up staff to our room when we couldn’t figure out the tv (haha).
Our room was very clean. The hideaway fold out couch/bed was perfect for our young daughter, while my husband and I got the master bedroom. The bed was spacious and comfortable and the room overlooked the beautiful waterfall pool down below.
We hit the water park after checking in, which was a huge hit for all of us! The splash playground was perfect for my daughter equipped with different types of sprinklers, buckets that dumped, and water slides that are small enough to not be scary for a small kid, but big enough that they have a blast.
We had lunch at Longboard Bar & Grill which is located in the water park and it was scrumptious. It is a resort, so expect resort prices with the food. However, the salad I ordered was phenomenal and quite large, packed with all types of fresh berries, pecans, and a beautiful blood orange vinaigrette.
The lazy river was very relaxing. I do advise renting chairs or a cabana if you have a family. We didn’t and while it was fine for us (I brought waterproof f***y packs), it would have been more convenient to have our own seating.
Once we had our fill of the water park, we went back to the Terraces and enjoyed the pool there and the hot tub. That area was quite private, plenty of seating that could be used without the rental. We were able to have a whole cabana to ourselves.
The location is great too. We were just doing a weekend stay, so we really only left the resort for dinner. But there is plenty around the resort and we were able to find a fantastic Italian place within a 15 minute drive.
The resort is huge and we didn’t even get the chance to check out the on site market, the arcade, or the mini golf, which we will be checking out next time. And there will definitely be a next time.
All in all, we had a wonderful vacation only an hour away from home. The staff was incredibly hospitable, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the amenities were totally worth it. Hard to beat a free water park with a room!
