We are taking a much needed break (after 4 years!) so we will be trying our best to switch off for some much needed family R&R and be switched off.

Wow what a busy summer that was?!
We have absolutely loved the little thank you notes, emails and gifts throughout our busiest summer ever!

However we have had lots of ‘unexpected’ extra guests during our stays. The property is yours during your stay however we are a small family orientated business of 1 property so we do not have endless supplies of linen, towels, sofa bed bedding. Surplus linen is stored at home a 2 hour round trip away.

We ask you how many guests are due to stay and re-ask this incase it goes up or down and you need / prefer a different bedroom 2 layout or extra items.
We have mainly had all 4 beds in use with 4-6 guests so lots and lots of washing. When we have not been informed (even just a message during your stay so the cleaner is prepared) we may not have enough bedding or towels for our next guests who have told us they need the sofa bed, Superking, cot. We then also have to inspect & strip for cleanliness. Also if the sofa bed bedding has been unexpectedly used and put back away in the wardrobe we have to panic wash items! We’ve even had super king sets, mattress topper etc unexpectedly used and hidden back away. We always know when it has been used even if items are vac packed back. The double sofa bed would be drowning in this Superking set which has lead to damage. If we have to purchase and store more bedding then guest storage space is lowered.

Guests towards the end of the summer will have noticed we have had to resort to locking bedding away in a wardrobe to inhibit use.

Please note that the lodge is only insured to accommodate for 1 - 6 guests. It’s fine for extra family and friends to visit for the day but we have had reports of 8+ people squeezing into the property for whole weekends. This is unsafe.

We try to provide as much as possible at the lodge but the property has taken a massive hit being used and abused. This is saddening for those that are appreciative they don’t have to pack the kitchen sink for a self catering holiday with us. We don’t want end up leaving bare cupboards.

If something gets broken or damaged during your stay or something has run out please just write us a little note or pop us a message. We try to provide as late check out and as early arrival as possible so you can maximise you stay.

As we are having to do unexpected extra jobs (e.g fix coffee table) during our 2 hour clean window we feel we will have to increase this for 2024 to allow for the unexpected and unknown. Sometimes we have then had a knock on issue of needing to delay arrival of next guests, the fridge hasn’t been inspected or the cleaner leaves some rubbish items in the bin which were complained about.

So we’d like to ask what would be preferred?
- Check out 11am and keep 2pm 🕑 arrival
- Check out remains at 12pm but arrival is 3pm 🕒

We are super busy with back to back cleans 🧼 and summer holidays!
However we are always looking out for new ideas!
We are pleased to confirm we have now upgraded to unlimited Wi-Fi at the lodge! This will prevent us from having to purchase “bolt on’s” ! 🛜

They are not quite ready yet.... We anticipate roughly around 2-3 weeks, unfortunately as we're in the hands of mother nature we can't give a specific date at the moment, but keep an eye on our socials for the opening. 🍓🍓
