📰📌 May marks Local History Month and we have an array of events planned!

On Thursday 8th May, join us as we celebrate VE Day with three different events and activities.

On Tuesday 13th May, the Scarborough Library Archive Group, in association with Scarborough Archaelogical and Historic Society, will be giving a talk about 'The Importance of Early Aviation in Scarborough and The Area'. This is being ran by the same people who ran our previous successful Gala Land talk.

On Friday 23rd May and Saturday 24th May, our Last Train To Whitby model railway exhibit is coming back for a second time! If you missed out last time, now is the chance to see it.

On Thursday 29th May, the Anne Bronte Society will be giving a talk in the library about the famous literary great. The time is yet TBC for this so watch this space.

All of these are events are free to attend and there is no need to book!

Watching the waves – a Seawatching Station on Marine Drive looks out over Yorkshire’s ‘cetacean highway’. With over 400+ sightings in the past year, the new seawatching station is at one of the best locations on the English coast for dolphin and porpoise watching… 🐬

Join and on Saturday 26th April as they unveil the final public artwork for Wild Eye: a new marine wildlife watching station on Marine Drive, home to 'Roman Mosaic c. 2025', a permanent marine mosaic by Turner Prize-winning artist made in collaboration with .

Time: 12 - 2pm
Location: Marine Drive, Scarborough
Activities: Make your own marine mosaic, and see what animals you can spot with

This major commission marks the completion of the Wild Eye coastal art and nature trail, linking five other artist commissions across Scarborough and Whitby.
