The Ship Inn Forecastβ¦
Well hello, it's been a while since we last had a chat so I thought I'd drop you a quick line & let you know what's been going on.
Since we last spoke a whole bunch of exciting things have happened, Christmas, New Years eve, the release of Dune 2 & the BAFTAS. All heady stuff I'm sure you'll agree but not half as important & exciting as the Ship Inn seamlessly sneaking in a cheeky brewery update, jiggle around & refit.
As many of you will know the Ship Inn brewery was installed in March 2008 & has been chugging away producing many well loved classics such as Dolly Daydream, Sandcastles at Dawn, Newton Gold & Red Herring for the imbibement of passing shipmates & landlubbers alike ever since.
So why would you take a perfectly functioning brewery, pull it apart, mess around with it & then put it back together, surely 'if it's not broken, don't try to fix it' right? Well, unless you've been living under a hedge or on the moon recently you'd have to be hard pushed not to have noticed the recent hikes in the cost of commodities & energy prices that we're now all afflicted with. It would be all too easy to sit back, winge, take your medicine & do nothing about it but we at The Ship Inn are 'go getters' & laugh in the face of adversity- ha ha ha, & with necessity being the mother of invention, decided to step up & do something about it.
We have completed stage one of a three(ish) stage plan.
Over time the brewery has been added to, adjusted with extra bits & bobs being squeezed in as & when needed.
So we have reimagined our work space, juggled our operation, replumbed, rewired & rearticulated (!) until the cows come home. We now have a jazzy new floor, a streamlined brewery flow, some extra gizmos & bits 'n' bobs & to mark the occasion a new awesome neon sign commissioned by Hannah & Christine which now sits proudly over our tanks. Come & have a peek, it's 'a right bobby dazzler'
We are now brewing again, starting off with Ship Inn classics, Ship Shape & Dolly are in the cellar, Sea Dog & White Horses joining them today! So get your diaries out to plan your next trip to Newton & as ever Iβll see you on the beach!
