Feeling very grateful to have experienced it! 🙏🏻

Couldn’t recommend this place more to families with young kids, and I’m pretty sure we’ll be back! ✨

The 2nd April was designated as World Autism Awareness Day by the United Nations General Assembly back in 2007 to promote human rights and fundamental freedoms for autistic individuals, ensuring their equal participation in society, after highlighting a need to raise public awareness of autism.

Now more than 17 years later the global movement has expanded beyond awareness to actively promoting acceptance, appreciation and inclusion, and also recognising the contributions autistic people make.

This year’s discussion explores the role of neurodiversity in shaping policies that promote accessibility, equality, and innovation across multiple sectors. Discussions focus on inclusive healthcare, quality education, workplace accessibility, reducing inequalities, and designing autism-friendly cities and communities.

All of which are vitally important to enable autistic people to live full and varied lives.

As you know a couple of years ago I became an IBCCES Certified Autism Travel Professional, and the IBCCES are working hard to improve accessibility in various different places including education, healthcare, workplaces, travel and entertainment destinations.

Celebrating our third team milestone of the year with a new gold builder! 🥇

Congratulations to .zammit 💕🎉🥂

Serena used to work in advertising, but she’s now a Mum of 2 with her own consultancy business! 🙌🏼

She has always loved travel, and has lived overseas too, so she joined the team on 5.4.22 with the goal of showing her gorgeous girls more of the World! 🌎

She soon began putting her knowledge and experience to good use by booking amazing trips for some fabulous clients as an independent travel agent! And on 10.1.24 Serena decided to become a marketing rep and opened up her very own team too! ✨

Abby used to be a paediatric nurse, but now she’s a Mum of 3 and home schools aswell as building a property portfolio with her husband, so this business works perfectly for her around her busy family life! 🏡

Abby joined the team on 1.11.24 to become an independent travel agent and marketing rep. ✨

When our little guy was first diagnosed with autism it didn’t feel quite right. We were expecting the diagnosis, we thought he was likely to be autistic, but it felt like that wasn’t the full picture. I was still grateful for the diagnosis, because we needed recognition of the difficulties he was experiencing in order to get him the support he needed in both healthcare and education.

There are some elements of autism that he definitely experiences, and autism is a spectrum, so we just put it down to that! In addition, as we learnt more, we realised that sensory processing differences could be explaining some of the anomalies, like him loving bright lights and loud noises for example. We just thought he was a sensory seeker!

However, one day we went to an autism friendly cinema session, and all of the other children sat still throughout the whole movie, whilst our little guy ran around, including going to sit with other families, moving seats several times, running up and down the stairs and managing to get behind the cinema screen!! 🐒

I was baffled, and when chatting about our experience to a friend she simply said - that’ll be the ADHD mate!! 🤯

So thank you Beck - as soon as you said that it just made sense - you were right - and I honestly don’t think the penny would have dropped if it wasn’t for our chat!! 😂

Beck’s a superstar by the way, she has 4 boys all with additional needs, and also fosters and runs her travel business from home around the chaos of family life! There isn’t anything Disney or SEN related that she doesn’t know! Grateful to have you on my team for all things travel and SEN, and we must catch up soon inbetween school runs, hospital appointments and annual review meetings! 🙌🏼🌻🐭🏰✨💕
