The cottage garden is smelling particularly delicious now with both varieties of Philadelphus shrubs smelling strongly. We have a long weekend coming up available last minute and good weather forecast for sitting outside. Otherwise, the last three weeks in July are all that are left before October.

It has taken me three years to grow Rannunculus bulbs big enough to produce a big enough flower. They are great for cottage flowers as they last so long in water.

A lovely walk in the sunshine across the fields with new lambs and through the bluebell wood. Bluebells not quite all out yet.

A lovely walk to Hidcote, through the fields, yesterday. Spring is so wonderful, and we are so lucky to live here and enjoy this year round! I am always hoping more will book our cottage and share our amazing surroundings.

Teatime treats waiting for our guests from Lancashire, earlier today. These are nearly the last of the raspberries but we have lots of lovely apples! The jam is made from my raspberries.

Adding to our wildlife this year is the welcome return of hedgehogs who have been absent for at least 10 years due to the presence of badgers nearby. The latter have now pushed off and we hope that the hedgehogs can lead a peaceful existence at Sansome House. I am actually not quite sure whether I have sighted two, a month apart, or the same one who has grown. I am leaving out water for him or her and cat food is on the shopping list although I fear that a visiting cat might get that.
