Feeling left out or not welcome at a play park can be hurtful! Sometimes parents want to avoid awkward questions from their children, but it is natural for young children to be inquisitive. The MMF Youth Panel has come up with these top tips to help. We would love to hear what you think? Do you have any suggestions?

Please do:
- Make eye contact
- Smile
- Say Hello
- Encourage others with you to say hi.
- Ask me to play!
- Let children ask questions
- Be kind

Please do not:
- Hush your child if they ask an awkward question. Many of us will help with answers to questions.
- Ignore me
- Stare without saying hi
- Speak to the adult I am with instead of me
- Talk about me as though I do not hear or understand
- Tell me I’m amazing or an inspiration!
- Call my parent a hero and don’t tell them they are doing something you couldn’t do

Many of the guests who stay with us ask for plans of our building, to help them to understand if our facilities are suitable for their additional needs. We are looking for a volunteer to draw up some simple plans of our site that we can then email to guests. January is always a busy month for our team as we start our preparations for the coming season. Here's a sneaky peak at the work in our holiday cottage. Our guest’s feedback is always our focus when we make any changes. Thanks to the help of the super helpful team Waltons Fine Furnishings Ltd we have a beautiful new floor in our holiday cottage. This will make it easier to manoeuvre our mobile hoists throughout the property.

We have had a last minute cancellation in our holiday cottage. Arrival Friday 24th June 2022 for 2 or 3 nights. Sleeps up to 6 guests over 3 twin bedrooms. Fully accessible cottage, profiling bed, wetroom with adult changing table, mobile hoist and shower chairs available. Prices - £80 per night for 2 guests, £105 per night for 3 guests, £110 per night for 4 guests.

This looks like its set to be a great day and one we will be supporting. There are a number of activities planned and organised by a new charity called Access the Dales. Their mission is to work towards breaking down the barriers that prevent people living with disabilities enjoying the great outdoors either independently or with their friends and family. A mission which is very close to our hearts at the Beamsley Project

Our accessible 19th century self catering holiday cottage is located in the grounds of the Beamsley Project Charitable Trust. Sleeping up to 6 guests you really get to experience a true Yorkshire cottage.

At last we can start to welcome our lovely guests again. So drop us a message, send us an email or give us a call. We are ready and waiting. Our cottage will re-open on the 12th April 2021 government guidelines permitting. All bookings will be fully transferable or full refunds will be given if COVID-19 related.
