Amazing News!!...
After a considerable search, as many of you will know ...we have finally found a new potential best buddy for Costello our donkey.
Everyone, π₯ ...meet STRIPEY LEGS !!! π€π«π
Stripey is approx 17 years old and he too sadly lost his best friend. He's a lovely boy with so much affection to give that we all just fell in love with him.
Stripey arrived yesterday ( hugest of thankyous to The Donkey Sanctuary Sidmouth for arranging this and helping us so much and to Ginny ( Stripeys previous owner who has passed him on to us...we promise to do our best for him Ginny!!))
In time, and with work and patience we are confident that Stripes will be the happiest of boys and become a huge member of the farm team and loved by you all.
In the meantime, we will leave you with a bit of video of the moment Stripey arrived.
More updates to follow.
An early Easter this year means early lambs!!...hoping ours will be with us for the 22nd March ( mother nature allowing and all that!)
For those of you who haven't experienced Spring on the farm yet, here's a little flavour....
We're not quite finished with October as we still have lots planned for our halftermers this week.
Half Term so far, has been filled with Ghostly goat walks, decorating pumpkin biscuits, trick or treat nights, outdoor crafts, spooky trails around the farm, bat walks and of course LOTS of animal fun and hot tub time relaxing!
Our hugest of thanks however, as always, must go to our pumpkin carving judge : the one and only Witch Grizelda, who dutifully flies in each year and who has the unenviable job of choosing a winner and a runner up. She really is a superstar β¨οΈ...and a very big well done to Samuel Whiskers and Peter Rabbit cottages . To impress Griz is quite some achievement π
Thanks also to our wonderful team, including Kirsty and Matt from Tangled With Nature who have been running our Forest School sessions with fantastic results.
Finally thankyou to all our "spooktacular" farmers who once again made half term so much fun.
If you missed it this year, we are booking already for 2024..eeek, but if you can't wait that long then our Bonfire and Pre Christmas weekend are just around the corner!!
In the meantime ,we thought you might like a quick look at the last couple of weeks...
Alpaca shearing on the farm today!
Our thanks as always to Colin our wonderful Alpaca man who comes to the farm each year to help keep Cocoa and Latte looking their best and feeling great.
For those of you who haven't seen the shearing process before, take a look at the video...the preferred method is to stretch the Alpaca on his/her side to shearing and then simply roll them over as required.
The entire process usually takes less than 8 mins. They also get a feet and dental check thrown in π₯°
A particularly educational experience for our young farmers this morning who were each offered a free haircut but strangely declined π€£
Sheep shearing on the farm!
After more than a month of stunning but very hot weather, we had some very appreciative sheep today who are benefiting already from a splendid haircut from Farmer Jeffrey!
Our young farmers were able to get a close up view and seemed to really enjoy the farm 'entertainment '...each taking home a small handful of sheep's wool to show nursery next week!
Hold on there Cocoa and Latte...your turn is coming very soon x
Happy New Year to all our 'farmers' and their families x
A big thank you to everyone who has stayed in 2022, we wish you all health and happiness and many more of the best memories you can make.
2022 has seen us finally get back to a more 'usual' way of operation with a particular special mention to our amazing team who have adapted along the way and kept smiles on their faces which has really helped.
To our animals who mean so much, another mention. Their special personalities resonate with so many of you and we are grateful for them all, no matter how long or short a time they may be with us.
We also raise a new year glass to our suppliers, extended team and past visitors who still keep in touch even though some of their children are now in their mid 20's π Your continued support means a lot.
Finally ...to our own family and friends. No business runs without behind the scenes support and we are so very lucky to have them.
Happy 2023 all xx
Lovely to be seeing so many familiar faces again this year and are all loving this long fabulous summer but for all our "toddlers" out there who might be waiting for a ride on a donkey or a go on a tractor or our children who for different reasons may just need 'quieter' times on the farm we still have a few September spaces. ..hope the video inspires x ...(we were asked if there were nice views around the farm so we thought we should attempt a bit of a video for those unsure of what they might get !!)

The animals are soooo excited for Spring and looking forward to hopefully seeing you all this year.
The degus have been chewing EVERYTHING! ..as degus do, and the ducks are already laying eggs...that's how excited they are!
We managed to catch Farmer Roger at the end of feeding time so he could say hello π
Hope you are all OK, missing you all ....not long now x
