North Cheshire Cruising Club's annual wreath making event is taking place in November with tuition from David Mason. There are two dates this year - Tuesday 26 November or Wednesday 27 November

The cost is £30 and includes the wire ring, wire and spruce. You just bring the decorations for your wreath, like ribbon, baubles, dried flowers or fruit etc. These will make excellent front door wreaths or as an early Christmas gift for a friend or relative. The event is great fun.

If you would like to attend the event, please let Sheila know by calling 01663 765731. Start time is 7pm on each day. There is only 20 places available, and they go quickly, so if you are interested, please let Sheila know as soon as possible.

How many times have you travelled down to Macclesfield Canal to Poynton, and as you pass, cricked your neck looking at the shells, and painted boats in the Braidbar Boat yard.

Well nows you chance to have a look.

Braidbar boats are hosting an open day on Saturday August 31st from 10am to 4pm.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

North Cheshire The North Cheshire Cruising Club are hosting a flower demonstration - On Wednesday 6 December, David Mason will be giving you a flower demonstration. Why not come along – these are excellent demonstrations. Cost is £8.00 which includes refreshments.

Tonight Friday 10 November 2023 our Quartermaster Bill Jewsbury will be setting up the quartermaster stall in the club room upstairs. If anyone has anything they would like to donate that would be useful to boaters, then please leave it by the door next to the freezer in the corridor between the foyer and workshop in the club house.

The stall will be there from Friday to Sunday.

The Board are extremely proud to announce that the very first NCCC annual calendar is now available to order. The calendar features photos from around the Arm and the local canals and by purchasing this little piece of history you will be supporting the Club and future events.

This year's pictures have been chosen from a selection of members' photos and the NCCC Archives. Excitingly, future contributions will be selected by members in a photo and art competition organised by the Commodore.

A draft copy of the calendar was circulated at the AGM and will be available to see in the Clubhouse. It is A3 size when hung up and the cost is £7.50 (plus £2.50 P&P if posting required) and copies can be ordered by emailing Heather Stanley - [email protected].

There is only a limited number of calendars available this year and pre-orders are coming thick and fast so make sure you reserve yours now. They make great Christmas presents too!

Can you help? Tiffany and Teresa, members of the New Mills Marina Team are walking a 26.2 mile canalathon in aid of ‘The Forces Veteran Afloat Charitable Trust’ on Saturday 30 September 2023

Can you support the girls with a small donation – anything helps. See the leaflet below (and attached) for more details of how you can donate.

Also, Tony Bowers (one of our members who resides at New Mills Marina), will be running the bar tomorrow for Lyndsay, and will have a small donation box on the bar. Any spare change that is weighing your pockets down, or is in your handbag could you put it in the box for this good cause. The ladies will appreciate your support.

Are you looking to take you boat out of the water in late 2023 or at some point in 2024 for any type of work using the NCCC slipway, paint shed, crane in/out, Surverys, then contact Mike Robison either at the club or call him on 07975 686707. Please note that the calendar is for viewing only, you cannot book yourself onto the calendar.

Check out the new availability calendar on the NCCC website - http://www.nccc.org.uk/slipway-availability/ - use the arrow keys on the calendar to check if your preferred dates are available. If you are not a member moored on the NCCC Arm, then when booking, please either email your fully comprehensive insurance to Mike, or bring it with you on the day to ensure a smooth passage on the arm.

There are no double week bookings at present.

Please let Mike know as soon as you can as these dates go quickly.
