I get through lots of white and metallic paints, with gold being a best seller 🖌

I also now use vinyl to personalise the globes and other products, which is easier, quicker and gives a bit more flexibility for designs and fonts ⭐

Day 15 - Time

I've had a few jobs alongside Loobie Design since I started up in 2016. So worked on evenings, weekends and any days off.

I am starting a new job and buying a house which needs quite a lot of work so will have to fit in the business around all of that!

After 6 years of business, I still hate the numbers. Self assessments, costs, profits, tax 🤯

But there are some more fun numbers. Number of sales, 5 star reviews, number of people enjoying your work on Instagram 🥳

I have always sold handpainted mini globe baubles at Christmas time, but last year, with new equipment, I was able to offer many more personalised products, such as stockings and Christmas sacks. I also introduced these ceramic baubles too 🎄

Day 8 - Best Decision

One of the best decisions I've made for Loobie Design was to invest in a vinyl cutter.

It makes personalising products so quick and easy. It also meant I could expand my product range and offer lots of designs.

Running a small business can take up lots of time, sometimes more than a full time job, but the big difference is having freedom to work in a way that suits me, doing something I enjoy and having the freedom to go on adventures when I want to ✈

Day 1 - You & your work

Hi, I'm Laura and I have been running Loobie Design since 2016.

It was just me up until last year, when my mum came on board, she runs her own small business 💐

I have always been creative and love travelling, so combined the two and now create travel themed gifts and wedding decor, with personalised, hand painted globes being the best seller 🌍

This photo was taken 2 years ago in India, just before covid. I went by myself to meet up with an all girl group tour, where I had the best time and came back with 3 new best friends 💛
