Gorgeous kayaking on Loch Insh - well worth the hour’s drive to the Cairngorms especially since we were treated to wonderful view of osprey’s nest complete with three chicks. Tuesday was a stunning day for climbing Ben Wyvis although none of us applied quite enough sunscreen….. we could have done without the clouds of flies following us along the ridge at the top but the views were absolutely breathtaking. Very grateful for the stream to cool our feet in at the edge of the forest on our descent.

One exhausted pooch this morning after yesterday’s walk through Strathpeffer. Glad to see the Eagle Stone still in its place. We also had fun at the Touchstone Maze and a lovely cuppa and ice cream at The Old Station.

Our first morning in Otter Lodge does not disappoint. Beautiful weather; birds, sheep and the wind in the tree tops are the only sounds. Plan to stay local today, walk up Knockfarrel, wonder down to the Old Station and see if the sea has reached the .
