I’m back at work!

The best way to get over the end of your cruise is to book another whilst on board. Which is what I’ve done.

7 night Mexico and Bahamas on MSC World America.
Decided to splurge and have booked a Grand Suite Aurea with Whirlpool & Terrace.

World America is still in the shipyard which makes it more exciting, I’ve never booked a cruise on a ship that’s yet to be built. I’m not going til 2026 but that leaves me time to do more cruises in between 🤣

Booking onboard got me onboard spend, double voyagers club points, reduced deposit and I also have the ability to amend to another sailing or ship until 1 year before departure. If you book onboard the booking is assigned back to your travel agent too, so if you ever book onboard and assign back to me I’ll always give you a discount.

Homeward bound it is, with a beautiful sunset.

We left Haugesund at 6pm and have a leisurely day at Sea tomorrow before docking back on Saturday.

Kjosfossen Waterfall.

The waterfall is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Norway. Its total fall is around 738 ft. The Flåm Line passes directly in front of and over the upper part of the waterfall which is one of the main attractions for those that ride the Flåm railway.

During the main tourist season and when the Fjords cruises are operating, an actress dressed as a legendary Huldra (a seductive forest creature in Scandinavian folklore) dances and sings in front of the waterfall as the trains enter the station for the amusement of the tourists. This is one of the weirdest yet most brilliant things I’ve ever seen and the waterfall is beautiful!

I took a video of the whole performance so if you’re planning on doing the railway and don’t want spoilers don’t watch it.

Incoming Flåm photo spam.

What an amazing day was had yesterday. Started with a walk around the town and pier area, lunch back onboard, a walk around the Flåmsbana Museum, a swift pint in the Viking Bar on shore then a round trip on the Flåm Railway to Myrdal and back. The weather wasn’t amazing, low lying clouds meant some of the views were obscured on the Railway, but it was absolutely amazing and is another item ticked off my Bucket List.

The best thing as always was the sail away from Flåm. In my opinion it is the best scenic cruising you will experience in Norway.

**TOP TIP** make sure you’ve booked the railway in advance. Most journeys only had 1 seat left so those that had not pre booked were unable to go.

** TOP TIP** For the best views, sit on the right hand side of the carriage from Flåm to Myrdal and the left hand side from Myrdal to Flåm.

Mt Aksla - smashed it mate.

Weather turned and I decided to be active. 418 steps plus rocky terrain and a lot of sweat but worth it for the views.

I absolutely LOVE Norway.

Good morning from a very wet Ålesund.

Twice this year I’ve visited this port and both times the weather has been rubbish. The rain doesn’t bother me, I have a coat and Umbrella so I will be off exploring shortly.

I was up early this morning and the sail in was beautiful with lovely weather. We also sailed alongside Virtuosa’s sister ship, MSC Euribia on her way to Geiranger.

I’ve had a 2 day digital detox which has been wonderful. Although we had a very rough crossing of the North Sea on Sunday, so could have done with a distraction.
