Spring has definitely sprung at the Stableyard. Just at the river in nearby Chester enjoying the sunshine and looking forward to welcoming all our spring and summer guests to enjoy the sun here in beautiful Cheshire.

DIY Day. The headboard in the master bedroom was getting a bit wobbly (turns out my original design not 100% practical - who knew?!?! So it was back to the drawing board to create a much sturdier version - and happy it looks pretty good too. As ever, team work makes the dream work - in other words, I do the dreaming and Marc makes it happen! Happy Friday!

A very happy new year to all our wonderful Stableyard guests. In 2023 we started hosting direct via air bnb and it’s been so lovely dealing with our guests direct and trying to make every stay extra special. It’s also been great to see so many lovely people returning and even making a Stableyard get together an annual event. Looking forward to another fantastic year in 2024! X

Lovely frosty day at the Stableyard. Putting up the Christmas deccies tomorrow - can’t wait! Feeling very restrained that I’m waiting until December. We got the tree from again this year so we can be confident it’ll be nice and full all the way through to New Year! Hope our December guests like it 🤞🏻

Our first weekend without guests since March can only mean 1 thing - painting!!! Spent the weekend giving the place a fresh lick of paint - including repainting the stairs (and went and left my phone upstairs before doing so! 🙄) So important to keep the Stableyard looking s***k and span so very guest gets that newly renovated first stay feeling.

We now welcome furry friends! Marc’s found and rehung the original gates to the entrance, to make a lovely secure space for dogs (and small people) to run around safely. Loving welcoming dogs as well as humans to enjoy the Cheshire countryside - and loving the return of blue skies!

As our latest lovely guests from Slovakia checked out this morning, I’m still blown away that people from all over the world should choose to stay in our little corner of Cheshire. We’ve had guests from the US, Australia, Abu Dhabi, Taiwan, to name a few… Hosting has turned out to be a far more post experience than I’d ever imagined as the people we meet are just so damn lovely! And to be fair it’s not just people on holiday who exude good vibes, previous guests were staying for work and couldn’t have have been nicer (or tidier!!) Now we’re managing the Stableyard ourselves we get more involved in the pre stay comms - which is actually really good as we get to know a little more about who’s coming and so hopefully how you can make the stay even better for then. 😍

Dry January? I don’t think so! It’s Friday, which mean wine and gogglebox - what does it mean in your house?! The Stableyard looking forward to welcoming a last minute booking - nothing like a spontaneous get away in the Cheshire countryside. Go on, you deserve it!

First Christmas at the Stableyard and excited to be fully booked until 6 January - plenty of family get togethers and New Years celebrations ahead!

One of the unexpected bonuses of hosting a holiday let was to see the Stableyard being filled with so much fun and warmth - cliche expression - but just good vibes!!! Somehow it seems to warm the bones of the place and has brought it back to life in the best possible way. So thanks to everyone who has shared their holidays and happy days at our little rental and here’s to more good times in 2023!

Autumn colours at the Stableyard. This is our first year of hosting at the Stableyard so it’s really exciting to see how every season offers something special. The evenings are still warm enough to cosy up around the fire pit, and we have oodles of lovely country walks on our doorstep to enjoy the seasonal colours, and plenty of welcoming pubs for roaring fires and hearty lunches!

As you may have seen in our stories, we popped to nearby for a spot of pumpkin picking yesterday before a delicious Sunday roast at - highly recommend both to all our guests this month…

We like to welcome guests with a few essentials, cereal, home baked bread, milk, butter and of course, apple juice and cider made with our apples.

We also give all our guests a sample of Lost Barn Coffee, freshly ground just up the road from the Stableyard. They have a new cafe opening this weekend - so we’re planning to cycle over and try their cake as well as their delicious coffee!
