When you see someone driving an old (proper) VWcamper, it doesn’t matter how cool they look in the van, please remember:

These things are ridiculously hard to drive (if you can get them started at all)... the likelihood is the driver is sweating because the steering is such hard work, can’t hear anything because of the noise emitted from the engine and everything else inside is rolling around or falling off, is anxious to slow down or stop because changing gears is a massive effort and some are impossible to get into some days...

So the best thing you can do is wave or shout ‘you can do this’ and make sure the road ahead is clear and if nothing else, please just get out of the way as some days the breaks don’t even work 😂

Fred’s upgrade is not quite complete but we’re off for our first wild camping trip of the year and since his major refurb...

He now has a proper working kitchen, he is insulated and sound proofed and has an in-built sat nav as well as a fabulous sound system, all installed by our super talented Eddie (and some help from his nuclear engineering colleagues) who has worked for days and days to make sure he’s summer ready 👌

Filled with gratitude and excitement... It’s going to be a cracker of a summer with refurbed Fred 💗💗💗

We were fortunate to be able to create many incredible memories in 2018 as a family with many trips planned around FreddieVW and paddle boarding - our memory making machines, including...

* 8 camping weekends in Freddie
* Longer holidays in Tunisia, Wales, Germany, Scotland and Cornwall
* Several trips to London
* 6 weekends staying with family&friends

That’s 67 nights away, the equivalent of two months worth of dedicated family time; feel so blessed 💚

Thank you to friends who joined us on our trips or invited us to stay 🙏

We needed a new water dispenser so in honour of we got this kilner cutie rather than a plastic one which tucks perfectly underneath the buddy seat ready to be poured.
