I have been riding horses and ponies of all shapes and sizes for over 27 years. I have always strived to listen, understand and work in harmony with them. Over the years the equines I have ridden and handled have given me a number of opportunities to deal with a wide variety of different situations and problems. These experiences have allowed me to develop successful techniques and strategies to c

ope with and solve the majority of situations that can arise. I always assess each situation and deal with them on a case by case basis. I have competed in dressage, show jumping and showing as well as schooling over cross country fences and have helped back and break horses. I have competed in dressage at the MARC championships and in various local shows with a range of horses and ponies. As captain of the Wolverhampton University Equestrian Team, I qualified for the BUSA regional finals. I have rehabilitated my own horse who would lie down when he was asked to work and was very aggressive. I had been advised that he would never get out of the behaviour he was showing. He can now be ridden and handled in all situations by people of various ages, abilities and experience. My horse now works alongside me helping people learn Natural Horsemanship and riding skills. We will be competing in local British Eventing competitions as well as local shows.

I am pleased to be able to share the video of Rupert that was taken for the BBC Make a Difference Awards.

It would have been a bit of a long video if it had every place he has visited in the last 12 years. It is a pleasure to be able to visit so many people.

It is so nice to see all the people and animals that are making a difference in our local community. It goes to show how much good there is left in the world. x

Rupert cheers people up by visiting them in care homes and schools.

A fantastic day today..

I revisited my friends at English Care's Lady Forester's Care Home and day Centre.

It's lovely to see how excited people are to see me, even before I have got out of the trailer.

A wonderful warm welcome as I walked into the lounge. It didn't take long for those who hadn't met me before to become new fans.

From the suprise and delight of the children, to the recollection of memories, and amazement of what I can do by the residents. The reactions were priceless.

Everyone who wanted to interact with me was able to do so via the different interaction activities. From rolling the football and standing on my step, to brushing my mane and stroking my soft nose, there are entertainment and interactive opportunities for everyone.

Look forward to seeing you all again soon. x

Saturday 3rd August 2024

Today saw my return to work after Mum's accident.

I visited all the lovely people at Ottley House. Some people were excited to see me back at the care home and for some people it was the first time they had met me.

After visiting several community rooms and some bedrooms, I went outside to have a look at the fête.

We were told by one of the visitors that they had heard our latest interview on BBC radio Shropshire.

Then back home to check on Brookie and Junior before a good roll and some well deserved turnout time. x

IT'S MY 29TH BIRTHDAY!

Today is the day I celebrate my birthday as I only had a year of birth when I met my Mum (Elaine), 18 years ago. We have used the date of the start of my new life as my birthday ever since.

It has been an amazing and varied journey so far. We can't help, but be proud of all we have achieved, the adversities we have overcome and the love and respect we have for each other.

Over the years our herd has grown and I get to pass on some of my wisdom to them. Although sometimes I leave the younger ones baffled when I decide to let off steam. The only one not surprised is Mum.

The first three pictures are new, but I've included some memories as well. x

Perhaps after Christmas I need to teach Mum, Brookie and Junior to look at the camera. x
