We've had a wonderful time at our Christmas-themed Stay and Play event with the children and their parents! The rooms were beautifully decorated, and we truly enjoyed seeing all the creative projects made by the little ones. It was a delight to have our parents join us in the nursery, and we hope you had as much fun as we did!

We've been having a fantastic time at nursery with our tuff tray activities, filled with water and flowers! It's wonderful to see the children exploring new textures and really engaging in the play. We were also thrilled to have a visit from Rudolph 2, who was on the hunt for a shiny new nose and searching through his secret stash for the perfect replacement.

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic cook to join our team.
Hours are 9 to 1 Monday to Friday.
The job will entail cooking and preparing healthy, nutritious lunches and snacks for 80 children daily . You will also be required to cater to special dietary requirements and prepare vegetarian options.
- The ability to spin plates is not necessary, but the ability to cook healthy food that tastes good is essential.
- You must be able to talk to children positively about the food you have prepared, even if they do complain about vegetables!
- You will be permitted to have gloating rights over children eating all their food at nursery, but remaining fussy at home!
-Pretending to eat playdough creations realistically is required, we find this is a skill that develops with time and patience.
- The ability to remember the names of many children, their parents, siblings, grandparents, pets, and special soft toys is a key component of this job. Again, this is something that develops over time!
- A high level of comfort with being asked personal questions by children is essential. You will regularly be asked questions regarding what are you having for lunch? Whether you are willing to share said lunch? Whether you are married? and if not, why not? Where are you going? (as you walk to the toilet!) and what you did do in there? (the toilet!)
- You must be understanding that the small people you have a relationship with during the week, may completely and utterly refuse to talk to or acknowledge you out in the community! Your feelings must not be easily hurt.
There is no other job quite like this one and it is very rewarding for the right person. You must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace, and laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your day.
Due to the nature of the job, all candidates will be subject to a full DBS check and references will be required.
Start Date: January 2025 but we can be flexible for the right candidate.

This week, it's been delightful to see the children immersing themselves in creating special Christmas crafts to take home. It's such a magical time of year, and I hope they'll cherish their creations in the future, recognising the beauty of their imaginations. Their enthusiasm has truly shone through, making this experience even more special for everyone involved.

Exploring flowers is such an enjoyable experience! We engaged in sensory play with flowers, rocks, and clay, allowing the children to express their creativity. It’s always fascinating to witness their imaginations blossom during these sensory activities here at Traquinas.
