Have you explored Culmstock Beacon? This wonderful, varied walk from Hemyock to the Elizabethan Beacon, is 7 miles long, but can be made shorter if you want an easier option.

Explore fields, woods and heath, with the added bonus of glorious views.

Eat in or take away… why not pop down to the village and say ‘Hi’ to Roy. He has an eat in menu too 😊

Just a 10 minute drive from the front door, The Hickory Inn in Halberton offers fantastic food, fantastic portion size (you can ask for a takeout box for your leftovers… honestly there’s so much food!) and great value for money 🙂

Congratulations!! it’s a truly iconic part of our local heritage and we’re very lucky to have it just 9 miles from our front door 🤗

Congratulations to Tiverton Canal Co for winning a Devon Tourism Award! 🥳

The family run company, which is renowned for operating one of the last horse-drawn barges in the country, picked up the Bronze Award in the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year category.

It’s the first time in the company’s 49-year history that it’s been named as one of the best tourist attractions in the county, and the owners are sharing the success with our ranger team at Grand Western Canal Country Park who work so hard to keep the canal operating.

Wow, just wow… we are just so touched by this gift from a wonderful couple…which is going to stand proud in the Hideaway… there’s a lot of history which is coming soon… but in the meantime it was drawn by someone who didn’t think it was good enough… rescued from a bin then went on to survive a house fire and rescued again… everything has history and even when we’re at rock bottom please believe that you are always special and loved. All the best things need rescuing sometimes ❤️

A year ago today we were pouring the footings. We were so excited and nervous all at the same time 🤪 what a journey it has been. We really didn’t know what to expect and we were second guessing everything as we wanted to make it a special, peaceful place for people to come to and we could only dream that people would find us.

We finally opened the doors to Hillfarrow Hideaway 27 weeks ago and since then it’s been booked for 32 getaways, 61 guests have stayed and 12 pets🐾
We’d like to thank everyone that has supported us and chosen us as their holiday destination. We’re looking forward to welcoming new and past guests in 2023 🔆🌿🐾

So lucky to have this place just 20 minutes away, what beaut’s 🐂 definitely well worth a visit.

The Highland cattle have finished munching on Front Park and have now been moooved (see what we did there?) to graze the Deer Park and Plains. They do such a great job to help with conservation grazing to improve the grassland habitat over the estate. 🐮
