We took a bit of a detour the other day to see one of our new build projects whilst we were in the area and had to snap a photo 📸

Previously this home was demolished due to a burst water main which had caused quite serious structural instability. So the early stages of the project involved the installation of odex steel case piles to transfer the heavy loads of the building itself, providing a solid structure for the new build.

We were appointed to fully refurbish this detached 1960s home to vastly improve its thermal performance and to fully modernise the property throughout.

This hidden architectural gem has been fully restored from top to bottom retaining some of the original features. Brand new mechanical and electrical works complement the renewable technologies, including new solar panels and hidden rain water harvesting tanks.

The whole roof structure has been redesigned and thermally upgraded to meet new regulations, together with the external walls. The home is flooded with natural light through the new aluminum windows and sliding doors leading onto the extended frameless glazed terrace.

The property has been stylishly furnished by the client to pay homage to architectural era of the home.

A couple of months ago we submitted our first application to the LABC awards...

2 weeks ago we found out we have been awarded HIGHLY COMMENDED for Best Non-Residential Extension, Alteration or Conversion for the Sandridge Barton Wines Conversion 🎉🎉🎉

We re-visited one of our recently completed projects of a loft conversion with dormer extension to the front elevation and we've got to say it looks like it has always been apart of the property.

Along with the new extension, we demolished the original porch to open out the hallway of the bungalow with the re-design adding extra space and giving it a bright and open welcome. Some external aspects to the bungalow have been updated through the project including the installation of new windows and front door, new fascias, planters and general decorations. It's been great to go back and see our client's own personal touch added to their beautiful home.

A project we are very proud of 👏

This stunning home was once a tired bungalow in need of modernisation. However the potential of the site was seen by our client and a decision was made to demolish the original dwelling and re build in its place.

The new build home actually kept within the original footprint, however it was designed to maximise the gorgeous views, so that they could be seen all the way from the back of the house. The finished facade of the building kept resemblances of the traditional houses in the surrounding area in regards to its shape and mass whilst also showcasing a modern and contemporary style with its white rendered walls and wood-look cladding.

We must admit the finished result is beautiful!

What a great day once again at the Rowcroft Hospice The Big Tackle 2024! Despite the rain, the ABC Team were in high spirits as they completed the 8-mile walk around Torquay, making one or two pit stops along the way, and back to Torquay Rugby Club for a free pint and pasty to watch the Six Nations, a perfect day for our chaps 🍻🚶 🍻 🍻🏉 🍻

As a company, we take immense pride in supporting the hospice and its incredible work in providing care for adults and their loved one facing life-limiting illnesses in South Devon. Walking in the rain with a couple of beers is a small sacrifice in comparison. We love this event and we're already looking forward to next year 💙

So the Great Big Rhinos trail has officially finished :(... but you can still see all the rhinos at Paignton Zoo Environmental Park. We have had a blast seeing people enjoy the art, and helping to raise awareness of the reducing population of the rhino community!! We wish the rhinos could stay forever :( We have produced a short video showing all our favorite photos/moments, including the Rhino Road Trip, the Rhino Ale Trail and Numerous competitions.
