Should you visit Andalusia in August?

☀️If you’re visiting inland cities such as Seville and Cordoba you do need to be prepared for temperatures pushing 40 degrees which can make sightseeing difficult. We headed out early in the morning until around 1pm, headed back to the pool for a siesta and time in the hotel pool, before going back out in the evening around 8pm. Not only did this help us avoid the hottest part of the day, it also fitted in with the opening hours of shops and restaurants that closed during the day during siesta. This was actually a lot more common than I had previously experienced in other European cities.

🎉 The main cities were a lot quieter as locals left for their holidays which made sightseeing more enjoyable as we didn’t experience long queues or crowded places. We also got to experience the festival Feria de Malaga!

🏖️ The coast was much cooler than inland although still very warm but the lovely sea breeze makes visiting places along Costa del Sol and Costa de la Luz easier.

So would I recommend Andalusia in August? Only if you carefully plan your trip to enjoy plenty of time to relax and cool off in a pool or enjoy a siesta during the hottest part of the day and also add in time on the coast. Also make sure you have fans that last several hours as you will need these whilst walking around. Otherwise I would recommend visiting in Spring or Autumn when temperatures are milder.
