Hi Folks, a reminder to shop local and direct from crafter's where possible this Christmas! Please order directly any keychains or headbands - Etsy not only takes a percentage of sales, but charges additional fees that also come out of customer paid shipping. While most headbands are sold for £20 directly, a headband sold for £34 has cost over £10 to sell, and over £12 to ship to Germany. With £8 worth of yarn in the item, and 6 hours of labour going into each headband, not including the designing of the pattern and post office queues time, I sold at a loss. Charging more has resulted in no sales. Sadly I will be closing the Etsy and posting all items on our website's shop - remember you can contact most Etsy crafter's directly!

Just a photo dump of wildlife, guests and scenery from this summer because it was class, you were class and I already can't wait until next year. In the meantime I'm proud to say that I will be working at the incredible local museum at the heart of the North Coast, amongst several thousand years of history!

Very pleased with how these puffin feather earrings and necklaces have turned out! On the smaller feathers you can see the fluffy base fibres and the smoother, waterproof fibres further down the feather. This fluffy base actually forms an undercoat as the fibres from individual feathers interlock to trap heat against the skin, while the other section is waterproofed and overlapping. This creates something similar to a double coat as found in snow dogs like the malamute, and allows puffins to spend their winters wherever they like, floating around the Atlantic! Ingenuity in nature - on sale for £8 per earring pair, and £6 per pendant.
