It’s back!!! I’m super happy to announce that this little book has just had a second print run and is now available to purchase from my website (link in bio).

Set on the stunning Jurassic Coast, this collection of poems, journal extracts and photographs are the diary of a Dorset sea swimmer. Like love letters to the wild, these poems show gratitude for the sea, the seasons and the powerful effect that cold water can have on our well-being. With swims taking place throughout the year, you are invited to dive in and share the experience of sea swimming all year round.

As with the first edition, 10% profits will be donated to charity. This time the book is raising money for Mental Health Swims].

The mental health benefits of cold water immersion is widely documented, but it can be daunting to stand at the water’s edge alone. Aside from the risks of swimming solo, it takes a lot of motivation to get into the cold water on a grey morning in January! Swimming with Mental Health Swims] can make it fun, supported and safe to do so. It is for this reason I’m donating 10% of profits from the sale of this book to support MHS in the brilliant work that they do to make it accessible to all.

Feeling immensely grateful as I prepare to send the last “Seas The Day” bundle out to a customer! 🌊 💙

When I self-published this little book of sea swimming poetry, journal extracts and photographs, I never imagined it would sell out so quickly! It’s been such a joy to connect with so many sea loving folk and to know these wild words resonate with your souls.

The driftwood gifts have also proved popular! I love how The “Seas The Day” mantra burnt into driftwood collected from the Jurassic coast continues its drift journey with you! My hope is that when you receive these drift gifts you can imagine the sound of the waves that carry the wood to the shore, and the smell of gorse wood smoke when I’m hand burning these wild words. 🌊 🪵 🔥

But it’s not just these gifts you’ve been supporting; As the book states, I decided to donate a percentage of profits from the sale of the books and drift gifts to . I’m delighted to be able to send a cheque off this week to support the amazing work they do keep the oceans clean and safe 🙏 🌊

But although this book has sold out, the journey doesn’t stop here! There will be a NEW print run in October. 💙 This time the book will raise money for another sea related charity! So keep your eye on the horizon for more info in the upcoming weeks! 🌅

“The Morning Sea Swim”
With dust of sleep still in my eyes
And dreams forgotten by sunrise
I wave goodbye to my sweet boy
Amidst the bags and playground noise
The sea is calling, clear and bright
A summer morning blue delight
With kindred spirits on the beach
We meet and speak of struggles each
And as we walk to greet the waves
The smiles return, we find our brave
We laugh within the salt and swell
The rush of cold wakes every cell
Alive with every breath we take
How GOOD it feels to be awake
To see the light, no longer dim
Oh how I LOVE the morning swim!

Absolutely LOVE the community of amazing souls that’s grown around the Seas The Day poetry book!

This ocean inspired T-Shirt arrived all the way from Australia today from fellow sea swimmer as a THANK YOU for her copy of the book!! 🌊 🏄‍♀️

Lesley placed an order with Girl Gone Wild last Christmas for the book and bespoke Seas The Day driftwood keyring but we had trouble figuring out a payment method. In the end, as I truly wanted her to have these gifts for Christmas, I just posted them out to her in Australia, with gratitude for her support and interest. I’d forgotten all about it, but always trust that these things find a way of working out. 💙
It was SUCH a wonderful surprise to receive this gift and Australian dollars in the post and felt so much more exciting than if I’d received a regular bank payment! Thank you Lesley!

I’m now super inspired to go on a road trip to the Great Ocean Road in Australia and visit too! 😂 🌊 ☀️

I woke startled at 5:30 this morning.
There was somewhere I needed to be.
With skin still creased from warm bed sheets,
And hair tangled with sleep.
The white noise of the engine cocoons me a while.
“Follow the road.
Down to the sea.
Where the east sky will blush
As the waning moon fades”.
So we stood.
On the sand.
My dawn stalkers and I.
A world away from home
To seas the day.

No wonder.

I’ve been experimenting with my pyrography tips. “Go Harefully” is inspired by the March full moon and spring equinox.

Still need to practice with different tips, (and definitely need to spend some time studying animal biology and muscle tone!) but I’m quite fond of my first go at a Hare!

It was great to catch up with the talent that is yesterday! Nicole produced this commissioned piece last year for the cover of my book “Seas The Day - A Year of Sea Swimming Poetry” . It was lovely to chat over coffee and reflect on this wonderful project.

Nicole’s work examines connections between people and place; often dealing with the female experience. Much of her work addresses ideas of nature, climate, and the human connection we have to our environment.

As a friend of the family, living down the road here in Dorset, I knew exactly who to ask when I was imagining the cover for my wild swimming poetry book.

Inspired by a photo of me entering the sea at (SWIPE TO SEE), Nicole’s captured the very essence of what this book is all about;

Another great walk with today.

This group hike was a 7km circular from Seatown to Golden Cap. Arguably the highest point on the South Coast at 191m. Great to see happy smiley faces when we reached the top. There’s nothing like getting up, out and climbing a steep cliff to get you feeling good on a Saturday morning!!. Well done to everyone who made the effort, and to Scotty for organising. I’m feeling a million times better than I did when I woke up this morning! (Bit too much wine last night!)

I am at war with war.
My eyes and ears
they tell me more and more.
Of bloody minded cruel attacks.
Of worthless rules.
Of rods for backs.

And I am raging.

Provoked by broken pieces sharp
enough to pierce and break a heart.

I rage.

Against this loss of sense.
This muted, numb and blind pretence
that governs such a brutal force
that wields and writhes itself off course.

And I am raging.

For there is hurt, and fear, and pain
enough in life without this gain.

How can this be?

If those that choose to overpower
Can not taste this taste so sour.
The bitter truth that floods the land.
How will they ever understand?

For no glory ever comes from shame.
No victory, if soaked in blame.
And so. I battle with the score.
Unwittingly at war with war.

Do you have a dream? Something you think about, that you long for? Maybe it's a place you'd like to go, or a job you'd like to do, or a goal you'd like to reach.

I believe that we all have a dream and that this dream is the single most important way of connecting with our self/soul/spirit/essence.
