Sassuma Arnaa is described as the mother/goddess of the sea that has been around since the dawn of time.

In Inuit mythology people believe that she is the sea-goddess and has control over the sea-animals.

If there is something that is bothering the mother of the sea, her long black hair would get all filthy and trap the animals in her long black hair, resulting in no food for the many families living off the sea.

Whenever this happened, the Inuit people would contact an Angakkoq (Shaman) asking him to go down to Sassuma Arnaa and comb her hair to release all of the animals and make her happy again.

We are currently cruising the Arctic on a luxury expedition vessel! 🛳

One animal we have always wanted to see, the puffin. Actually we have now seen 100s of them! They are only on land for a few months of the year. They spend the rest of the time at sea 🌊

Sakura Cherry blossom is a stunning time to visit Japan🍒 🇯🇵

It’s hard to know when they will bloom but Springtime in Japan is nothing less than magical. The specifically can happen from late March to mid-April, or even early May depending on conditions.

This beautiful place in Northern Ireland is called Carrick-a-rede. It is a famous footbridge located near Portrush on the North Coast of Northern Ireland.
