For some reason, this came up on my phone's stories today. The incredible experience of attending Hogmany is a memory that still brings a smile to my face today.

Experiencing other cultures makes me curious and excited. It is what makes me want to travel. It is also one of the main reasons why I decided to get into the travel industry.

Edinburgh is a great city and host to some amazing events; Hogmanay is just one of them.

No sell, but maybe some inspiration for what where next. Certainly one of the best ways I've spent a New Year's Eve.

Here we all are looking forward to spring - it's just around the corner, and I'm going g on about New Year's Eve...

If you are thinking of going away, book earlier rather than later because the prices will be cheaper, for flights and the availability for the hotels in the location you want will also be better.

When we went to Edinburgh, I booked my flight tickets early. My daughter decided to go nearer the time, and the same flight was double, and hotels were scarce.

Everyone loves a bargain, so which is the best day to get a good price for your travel?

Having looked at various articles which Google kindly threw up, it would seem that Friday is your best day for a staycation/UK hotel, saving up to 5%

However, if jetting off to other lands is what your heart desires, then Sunday could see you save as much as 15-20% off your flights!

If you know where you want to go, then booking as far into the future as possible will save you money and ensure you get exactly where you want to be, expecially if there is a group of you. Alternatively, if you don't mind where you go, leave it up to 3 weeks before your departure date - there are incredible bargains to be had then.

As an independent travel agent, I have access to wholesale B2B travel suppliers and can get some great offers. Bookings I have made for people so far have either been exclusive to the suppliers I have access to, or the prices have simply been better.

With today being Friday, I would just window shop for your next international holiday.

I’m excited to share that I have just qualified as an independent travel agent – all fully ATOL and ABTA protected!
I have spent years in jobs booking executives all their travel together with coordinating sales events where people are travelling from all over the world plus all my own travel for girls’ trips, family holidays, days out. I also have plans to do more travelling myself so when the opportunity arose to become an independent travel agent, it was a no brainer.
You may well be thinking why now, the pandemic hasn’t settled completely but it will eventually pass, or we will become used to living with it. Either way, being a travel agent does not mean only booking holidays whereby you get on a flight to your destination. Staycations were the biggest thing last year – admittedly because our choices are limited.
There are plenty of other things I can book, including restaurants, theatre tickets, car hire, cottages, experiences, business trips, activities, group bookings, cruises and so, so much more all at great rates!
So if you are thinking of booking anything at all this year, please do think of me and drop me a DM as I’d love the opportunity to help my friends with whatever it is you are looking to do this year.
