It will be four years next month when we moved into Y Capel in Corwen. In that time we have watched the station being built. It is great to see that in a little over a week the station wil be officially opened, with special trains for invited guests on the 1st and 2nd of June and a special timetable of trains for the public on the 3rd and 4th of June. Congratulations to all those who have worked so hard to bring this project to completion. Another reason to stay at Y Capel, the station is two minutes walk from our front door and then you can enjoy a beautiful trip throuhg the Dee Valley.

Only 40 mins from us here at Y Capel is the British Ironworks Centre. Amazing place, dog friendly, amazing sculpture park and the cafe does amazing cream teas. Well worth a visit.

Lovely walk around the reservoir at nearby Lynn Brenig, lovely visitor centre and many well sign posted walks and cycle trails and in the summer the chance of seeing an Osprey or two.

Y Capel latest news

Well 2022 has arrived and although Spring and Summer may be a way off yet there is the faintest whiff of optimism in the air.

We are grateful for the people who were able to come and stay here at Y Capel over 2021, albeit the window of opportunity for them to stay was a trifle short. However we look forward to this year with hope that in most respects we can return to normal. Hopefully many of the events that are planned for this year will go ahead and we look forward to welcoming more guests to Y Capel.

Our prices will remain the same until the 31st March, on the 1st April they will rise. However we can announce that any time booked here at Y Capel before the 31st March will be subject to the lower rate even if you are planing to come later in the year. All we ask is that you make a non refundable deposit before the 31st March and we will honour the lower rate for later in the year.

You can now access our availability calendar on the website so you can see if the dates you have in mind are free. We will endeavour to keep this up to date but drop us an email and we will confirm you dates asap.

We look forward to seeing you, new and returning guests, and hope that you can come and enjoy the wonders of North Wales.

During the Winter, Y Capel is in the shadow of Pen y Pigyn, a steep hill, lying to the south of us. We are beginning to see the sun return to our garden with lots of new growth on our plants!
Spring is on its way 🌱.
Hopefully too a recovery from the Covid Pandemic.
Once the UK government advise us that it is safe, we will be open again for visitors.

The beautiful River Dee, flowing strongly at the moment. Just 10 minutes walk from Y Capel, this path is a little easier atm at this time of year, the vegetation has died back a little

We are currently unable to take any bookings at Y Capel due to a local COVID 19 lockdown in Denbighshire. This means people are unable to travel to Denbighshire for the foreseeable future. The Welsh government will review the restrictions in 2 weeks time. Watch this space as we will provide regular updates when the situation changes. Thank you for your support.
