Attending Choral Evensong at the Cathedral is magical ! Everyday at 5.30pm after the Cathedral is closed, you can join other pilgrims as you enter the quietness via the side door, and then lookup and marvel at the beauty and scale of this most beautiful building.

It’s very special, so if you are planning a stay with us, we so recommend you go to Evensong. It’s streamed live on line everyday, but nothing is the same as being there !

Travel back in time!

Steam through beautiful countryside on The Kent & East Sussex Railway recognised as both the country’s finest and first example of a rural light railway. The main station is in the charming town of Tenterden where you can buy your tickets and learn about the history of the railway before stepping aboard a preserved steam or diesel train to travel a route that’s been used for more than a century.

The Kent & East Sussex Railway is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and follows the wide unspoilt Rother Valley for much of the journey. Tenterden Town Station is the starting point for many visitors, but wherever you choose to board, you can be assured of a warm welcome!
