England in late summer, as the warmth and festivities of August give way to the transitional month of September, is a beautiful time to explore the country.

The weather remains mild, and the temperature is often a blend of seasonal warmth and gentle breeze that makes for perfect hiking. Out in the countryside, the wildflowers of summer contrast the trees as they begin their grand transition from lush greenery to the fiery jewel tones that mark later autumn. This is also the beginning of the shoulder months when streets quieten after the peak of tourist season.

Put all of this and more together, and late summer is an excellent time to pack your bags, lace up your boots or strap on your saddlebags, and head out to discover something new in England.
