· I have been a member of the technical team at Darlington Civic/Hippodrome for 3 years and I am an experienced participant of get-ins, fit-ups, load-outs and get-outs of shows and events. I have the ability to accurately follow the requirements of visiting companies and ensure a safe and efficient process of rigging lighting, sound, AV, staging and sets of all sizes. I am very comfortable working alongside visiting companies to ensure a speedy, safe and efficient process from start to finish.
· As a member of the Darlington Civic Theatre crew, I am used to fitting modern large-scale touring shows into a small h**p house with limited wing space. As such, I am familiar with the technical limitations and challenges of such a task. I excel at thinking outside the box to ensure the restraints of the venue can be overcome whilst maintaining a safe working environment for both cast and crew.
· Once the show is ready to go, I have experience in operating lighting, followspotting, flying – h**p, counterweight, motorbars and mobile highspeed winches, stage work and stage management all whilst being aware of all hazards associated with all of these roles.
· During get-ins/outs I frequently take up the role of coordinating the activities of others working on different departments. Others often see me as the person who can provide answers to where things go, how things work and how things should be done in venues I am familiar with.
· I am very approachable and always happy to help anyone who requires it. I am able to work patiently and effectively with people of different experience levels, learning styles and diversity.
· I have the ability to remain calm, confident and professional in high pressure situations whilst going above and beyond to manage customer and staff expectations.
· By arriving early for work and often leaving late I operate a flexible working pattern, which accommodates deadline changes and operational requirements.
· I have experience of working in a safety conscious culture, where I have created and implemented risk assessments in various settings. I have advised staff and visiting companies about the specific safety requirements and have directed them to the appropriate policies and guidance.
· I am always committed to my personal and professional development. My main aim is to be passionate about customers by demonstrating an attitude of ‘right first time’. I am an extremely hard worker and consistently exceed my objectives and demonstrate leading the way values resulting in a personal bonus. This also results in improved relationships with my colleagues, other departments and senior management.
· I have a vast array of administrative experience including booking and chairing meetings, processing invoices and financial month end, handling petty cash, post room duties, minute taking, credit card reconciliation and maintaining product stock levels. I managed all incoming and outgoing communications to the office, maintained structured filing systems and worked alongside the Health & Safety manager to implement Risk Assessments and coordinate First Aid and Fire Marshal qualification renewals.
· In previous roles I have been responsible for managing a team of staff. This has included the following; sickness absence management, disciplinary issues, recruitment and selection, inductions of new staff to the company and training and performance management.
· I have experience of organising casual staff on very short notice and have responded to the changing priorities to provide replacement staff appropriate for the job in order to fulfil client expectations.
· I am passionate about innovation and ongoing improvement and have regularly reviewed guidance materials and referred suggestions to policy makers. This has resulted in the updates and amendments I present being taken on board and updated versions of documents and training materials being released business wide.
