Tip of the day Orlando - Rather than paying $13 dollars a day to your car remtal desk for the Tolls - go and buy a Mini Sunpass Transponder that sticks to your windsceeen - it costs around $4. You can then register it and you only pay the toll fee when you pass through one rather than paying a flat fee per day which works out more expensive 👍👍👍👍

A much deserved pool morning while the boys go up in a helicopter 😳 This is the Sheraton Vistana Villagea Resort on I Drive, always stay here as it has everything. Daily activities, on the trolley bus route and villa style apartments with full kitchen and laundry facilities.

Tip of the day Universal Studios …..If you want to stay hydrated you can purchase a refillable cup for about $18 (we bought two so got them for $16 each) You can refill at drink stations around the park. It is valid for that day only but the next day you visit it can be activated for $11.99. If you don’t want to pay for drinks bring your own water bottle as water is free in drinking fountains located around the park. Oh and wear comfy shoes we walked 10 miles !

Before entering one of the parks make sure you fill up on breakfast as meals are expensive once you are in, and you can’t take food in. We are filling up at ihop on International Drive 👍 Cheap and cheerful !

Well we arrived in Delray and our first day is almost over. We just love this Palm Coast. We had lunch today at Latitudes which I highly recommend, right next to the Ocean in Highland Beach. We also visited Deerfield a beautiful beachside town. These places are about half an hour north of Miami on the coast and some of our favourite places…follow for more recommendations. There really is more to Florida than Disney 👍👍👍🦀🌴👌❤️🐬✈️

I just want to share a recommendation for anyone flying from T5 LHR. We stayed at the Thistle Hotel at T5 last night. The rate was really good at £77 room only. They have a great restaurant with runway view that served good food (very rare in my experience of airport hotels) and the service was excellent. To get to the airport you take a little walk out of the back door and for £6 per person you jump in an electric pod that takes you to the Terminal. (Buy ticket at reception). It was all so easy and they are waiting there for you where as the bus only runs every hour and is the same price). If you are getting dropped off at the hotel by a friend or relative as we did, it is free for them for fifteen minutes. I will definitely use this hotel again as staying there made everything so much smoother and stress free.

Look out for an announcement from Boris in the next ten days to two weeks with a date that we can start flying again and confirmed lists of where we can go without having to quarantine.

Those that have booked with us for 2021/22 have managed to get some great deals!

I suspect the airlines etc may hike some prices once lockdown is lifted as demand will be high, it’s an easy money maker so if you want to go away call us and get a booking in before the announcement !!!! 😎🐠🦀🌴

Travel Counsellors - Top Travel Firm voted by Martin Lewis Money Saving Expert!

The 50 best and worst travel firms for cancellation refunds: Ryanair and Teletext fail, Hays Travel and Jet2 succeed

The coronavirus pandemic has been uniformly devastating for the travel industry, with millions of holidays and travel bookings either unavailable or cancelled. Yet how firms treat their customers due to the pandemic has led to a stark divide, according to a major new investigative survey by MoneySavingExpert.com (MSE).

More than 27,000 travel customers responded to MSE’s coronavirus travel survey, which asked for their rating, feedback and experiences dealing with 81 airlines and travel firms (1) due to problems arising from coronavirus. Firms were then ranked by subtracting the percentage who had a poor experience from those who had a great experience with the company.

Of the 53 firms that received more than 100 responses, travel agent Travel Trolley was the worst with a net score of -95%, followed closely by TravelUp at -95% (with a slightly lower proportion of ‘poor’ votes) and Teletext Holidays at -94%. Of the big-name firms the worst were Ryanair at -82% (from a massive 2,500 responses) and Tui at -60%.

At the other end of the spectrum, some firms did manage to impress the majority of their customers.

Travel Counsellors came top with a net score of +91%, followed by Hays Travel with +70% and Airbnb with +56%. Other big names that did well were Jet2 Holidays with +54%, Booking.com with +18% and BA with +8%.
