Nestled in the foothills of the Tatra mountains, the resort village of Zakopane will quickly become one of your favourite hideaway destinations. Skiing and snowboarding in winter, hiking and exploring in summer, with cute village markets all year round - what more could you ask for?
Lisbon, the lively capital city of Portugal offers visitors a little bit of everything. And it's almost always sunny. #win. Explore it's hilly cobbled streets, discover it's colourful tiles and tickle your tastebuds with it's local dishes. It's fast becoming one of the most popular cities to visit in Europe, for all the right reasons.
Named after its five tiny villages, the UNESCO-listed Parco Nazionale delle Cinque Terre encompasses some of Italy’s most picturesque and environmentally sensitive coastline. The villages are linked by the 12km Blue Trail, a magnificent, mildly challenging 9km trail. The Blue Trail is just one of a network of footpaths and cycle trails that crisscross the park. If water sports are more your thing, you can hire snorkelling gear and kayaks.
Stylish San Sebastián has the air of an upscale resort, complete with an idyllic location on the shell-shaped Bahía de la Concha. The natural setting – crystalline waters, a flawless beach, green hills on all sides – is captivating, but the city itself has plenty to offer. Head to the buzzing Parte Vieja (Old Quarter) for tempting tapas bars and gourmet restaurants. Or just get your surf gear together and hit the waves.
Wandering the streets of Old Town Split will make you feel as if you have been transported back in time, to when the Romans settled along the shores of Dalmatia. The Old Town is located within the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace and today it is a living museum, alive with locals going about their business, cafes, pumping bars, trendy restaurants and many sights within.
An epic, monumental metropolis, Rome has been in the spotlight for close on 3,000 years. As the showcase centre of the Roman Empire, it was the all-powerful caput mundi (capital of the world). Some 500 years on and its name still exerts a powerful hold. Fortunately, the reality is every bit as enticing as the reputation. With its architectural and artistic treasures, its romantic corners and noisy markets, Rome is a city that knows how to impress.
Founded on the legend of a dragon lurking beneath the fairy-tale Wawel Castle that overlooks the bending river; Krakow is definitely one of those cities that has an air of magic to it. The Old Town has one of the largest medieval market squares in Europe, and churches that soar high above all the other buildings - it is hard not to be impressed.
