We’ve updated the music listings for Exeter Phoenix on our website! 🎉

Right in time for their 25th birthday…

That’s right, Exeter Phoenix celebrates 25 years this weekend with their BIG Birthday Bonanza!

We can’t wait for Friday’s line-up at this fantastic music venue.

There will be live music from local legends, DJs, and unforgettable entertainment (including fire eaters!) it’ll be a party to remember for the next 25 years.

The acts:

▸ Exeter’s finest-tuned musicians Pattern Pusher, are fresh off a national headline tour for some top retro-pop bopping.

▸ Stars of the Southwest music scene (and our website homepage) Revelation Roots will bring their ska & reggae beats to get the crowd moving.

We’re taking it back to when we did our first feature on Exeter’s No ordinary fish, a pop/rock band with a unique sound and a whole lot of heart.

Formed in 2018, this 4-piece group brings together harmonies and an eclectic mix of 60s pop to 90s rock, with a nod to legends like Fleetwood Mac, Blur, and Crowded House.

They grace the stage at Thorfest in Thorverton this weekend at 4 pm.

Did you know? 🎶

Before Thom Yorke became the iconic frontman of Radiohead, he spent his university days right here in Exeter.

📍 Thom studied English and Fine Art at the University of Exeter in the ‘90s.

During this time, he was a familiar face on the local music scene - DJing at the Lemon Grove and playing guitar in the techno band Flickernoise.

Fun fact: Thom also released a record called “I Don’t Want to Go to Woodstock” with the Headless Chickens! The band performed at The Printers Pie on Sidwell Street, now The Monkey Suit.

Exeter’s musical history just keeps getting better, right? 🎶

🚨 Friday Gig Alert!

Tonight at Exeter Cavern from 7 PM, welcome to the stage, Bears In Trees!

An English indie rock band from Croydon, South London the band tend to reject genre labels, preferring to call themselves a ‘dirtbag boyband.’

Vocalist & bassist Iain Gillespie, guitarist Nicholas Peters, drummer George Berry and vocalist, ukulele & keyboardist Callum Litchfield grew up as teenagers together on a diet of online fandom, mid 00’s emo-pop, and the golden age of One Direction.
