One of the easiest yet most impactful changes we can make in the travel industry is to reduce plastic waste. Whether it’s plastic-free hotels or using reusable water bottles, small changes can lead to a significant reduction in waste.
I’ve seen how plastic-free initiatives can transform travel experiences, and I’m proud to be part of this movement. I'm also proud to partner with and holiday with Iberostar Hotels who are a completely single-use plastic free zone. We head to Fuerteventura on holiday today to stay at the recently renovated Iberostar Waves Gaviotas Park having stayed in other Iberostars in the Balearic Islands and Dominican Republic and I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences and demonstrating what a difference a hotel chain can really make when it comes to reducing plastic waste.

The last 12 months have been transformational for me and my travel business.
From having an interest in a hotel group that had become single use plastic free, to being given the opportunity to join a familiarisation trip with the 2023 TTG Sustainable Travel Ambassadors to Majorca to visit one of those hotels, to completing the Kiwano Sustainable Travel course, to applying for the 2024 TTG Sustainable Travel Ambassador programme and being accepted as one of just 20 travel agents in the country, to experiencing sustainable travel in action in Dominican Republic with Iberostar and Naxos with the Greek Tourist Board, to spending the day in London with Intrepid Travel on a cultural tour, to volunteering with Sheffield Action on Plastic, to attending the Sustainable Travel Forum in London, to giving Responsible Travel talks at networking and WI groups, to enrolling on a Climate Change and Environmental Awareness course with Doncaster College, to completing all of the training and assignments and this week graduating as a fully certified TTG Sustainable Travel Ambassador.
I am so proud and honoured to have done what I've done this year and the journey now continues ... 😍
