For over 20 years the tour operator we use for this has been taking passengers on their flight excursions in search of the Aurora Borealis, or as it’s more commonly known, the Northern Lights. This natural light show resulting from an interaction between the magnetic fields of the Earth and the Sun is a bucket list must for many
**Main guest astronomer for these excursions will be Pete Lawrence. Pete has appeared regularly on the BBC’s long-running The Sky at Night programme and is highly regarded as a world-class astrophotographer. Joining Pete will be either Nigel Bradbury or Dr Lee Sproats. Nigel is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and an active amateur astronomer for over 40 years who has joined many of our previous Northern Lights flights. Dr Lee Sproats has appeared on the BBC The Sky at Night programme too and has also spent time working in the physics department at the University of Surrey.
Important info - We cannot be held responsible for the non-appearance of any named astronomers and no refunds will be given in this event.
