🌍🏃‍♀️ Running in the Erongo Mountains, Namibia

When I first started running in the Erongo Mountains in Namibia, I have to say, I wasn’t very convinced in the beginning if it was a good idea to go out with the wildlife roaming free, I wasn’t sure what I would meet along the way.

Coupled with the altitude, the unfamiliar terrain, knowing there was a resident python and a leopard nearby definitely kept me on my toes! 😬 But I was told by my hubby and the guides that the leopard, which I was most concerned about, though curious, is shy and rarely seen—making me feel a little more at ease.

Running at such high altitudes really changed my running ability. If you’ve ever wondered why so many elite athletes train in Africa, it’s because the high altitude boosts endurance and cardiovascular fitness. The thinner air means your body has to work harder, increasing stamina and strength. And let me tell you, I felt the difference! My speed and
endurance grew so much so when I was out there. ✨

When I moved back to the UK, I realised just how much my running had changed. The challenge of those tough, uphill runs became easier to handle, and I ran faster than I ever thought I ever could.

I’m working hard to regain that speed and
stamina. Altitude might not be on my side here, but I’m hoping I can be as fast and fit as I was back then. 💪

You know those days where you wish you could go on holiday right there and then? Teleported to the most tropical place on earth 🌍 ✨ I had such a lovely start to the day, I met up with my friend @8thhousehr and we went to a lovely co-working event organised by @billynomates_cowork which is in an amazing venue called @kipandnook just outside of Darlington. They offer accommodation in a rural area with a rustic and playful feel to it. The log burners made the communal barn so toasty and warm and the staff that work there were so welcoming. Not to forget a mention of their delicious coffee made with their own blend of coffee, with the help of local coffee roasters @lontoncoffee . However my car wouldn’t start when I went to leave and found myself 2 hours behind schedule before I made it home, which is frustrating when you have loads to do. But doesn’t it make you feel better knowing you have a holiday booked, giving you something to keep pushing through when you have those hard days?
