Tour des Muverans September 2025🇨🇭🥾🏔️

The Tour des Muverans is a wonderful circular hike in Valais, with many different options for walking. The trail is officially 54 km, with 4300m of ascent and descent and 23 hours of walking. The tour runs mainly above 2000m, with an altitude of over 2600m and a lowest point of 1230m. During our 5-day Tour des Muverans, you hike around the mountain peak Grand Muveran, which rises above 3000m and lies on the border between Vaud (Waadt) and Valais (Valais) in Switzerland.

Itinerary

Sunday 7th September 2025

- Meet @ Geneva airport train station 11.30am
-Depart @ midday to Sion and onto Derborence

A stunning train and bus journey above Lake Geneva taking in Lausanne and wonderful mountains 🏔️ 🇨🇭

- 3.30 pm arrive at Refuge du lac de Derborence for 1st nights stay chilling and chat over dinner about trek ahead 😊

Monday 8th September

- Depart at 9.30am to Cabane Rambert

Distance - 11.5km
Duration- 6 hrs hike time
Ascent - 1230 metres
Descent - 150 metres

Tuesday 9th September

- Depart at 9.30am Cabane du Fenestral

Distance - 9.5km
Duration - 5 hrs 30 mins
Ascent - 560 metres
Descent - 660 metres

Wednesday 10th September

- Depart at 9.30am too Cabane de La Tourche

Distance - 11.2km
Duration- 6 hrs
Ascent - 550 metres
Descent - 800 metres

Thursday 11th September

- Depart at 9.30 am too Auberge de Pont de Nant

Distance - 10.4km
Duration- 6 hrs
Ascent - 450 metres
Descent - 1360 metres

Friday 12th September

- Depart at 8 am to Derborence

Distance - 15km
Duration - 7 hrs
Ascent- 1100 metres
Descent 720 metres

Depart Derborence at 4pm

- each day will be relaxed hiking 🥾 loads of photo and break stops. Decent level of hiking fitness required to 😊enjoy
- trek follows T3 grading trail system in 🇨🇭🥾

Guided hike in Western Mournes 🏔️ 🥾
Saturday 7th December 2024.

9.30am @ Spelga Dam

4-5 hour hike of Hen and C**k mountains taking in the Mourne way route also.

5 mile/8km with total elevation of 500 metres climb 🏔️

This hike will suit all abilities and is more undulating terrain in western mournes though good hiking shoes/boots are essential.

12 spaces available @£30pp.

We will look at basic navigation features geology of mournes and some environmental chat 😊

A fabulous November day in the western mournes taking in Rocky Tormnarock and Pierces castle with Gaby kate Damien Micky Maria Josie Genevieve Sinead and Marian😊🏔️🥾
We got to look at lichen mosses and the Mourne Granite close up and how it has been sculpted after last ice 🧊 age. Thanks everyone for the crack and fun😀👏🧭🏔️

Tour des Muverans. 3 Days. 60km. 4000 metres climb.
22 hrs hiking.

Day 1. Derborence to col du Fenestral.
- 23km 2000 metres climb

Day 2. Fenestral to Pont de Nant
- 24km 1100 metres climb

Day 3. Pont de Nant to Derborence
- 13km 900 metres climb

A fantastic trek around the Grand Muveran peak in the Swiss alps of the valais🇨🇭🏔️🥾. Over 3 days this was tougher than I expected😊. The huts are amazing en route and plan is to guide this amazing trek in 2025 over 5 days and 4 nights in huts which will be more enjoyable then 3 days!! First date planned is June 2025 so get in touch if interested😊.

The plan over 5 days will be on average 12km per day with 800 metres elevation. Good fitness level is necessary and experience of hiking on technical rocky terrain is a must to enjoy this beautiful trek 🇨🇭🏔️

An introduction to climbing on real rock, perfect for those with little or no outdoor climbing experience.

Day will cover:

- Climbing Harness fitting
- Figure of 8 knot
- Safe Belaying Practice
- Climbing Technique
- Bottom rope climbing 🧗‍♀️

All harnesses helmets and gear will be provided on the day😊
